And now, the news comes in via Pitchfork and and Variety that The Beasties are suing Monster Energy Drink for doing just that. Yup, it's copyright infringement time.

Here's an interesting one. The late Adam Yauch, aka MCA, had it written in his will that Beastie Boys songs could never be used in adverts.

According to DNA Info Yauch...

... instructed in his will that his image, music and any art he created could not be used for advertising, saving himself from the fate of other deceased musicians whose faces and songs have become corporate shills.

In other words, "not even from my cold dead hands."

Take this Lollipop, the creepy stalker thing, was seen by over 120 million people and had almost 14 million Facebook likes.
