#CannesLions fun, bingo, boondoggle scale and the wrath of Cannes again

Doug Zanders of The advertising week social club has posted the THE CANNES BOONDOGGLE SCALE - read it to find out what number on the scale that you are. I will nod and agree that Bob Garfield is indeed an eight and feebly admit that last year which y'all know was the best and worst Cannes and nearly killed me, I was a boondoggle ten. On the upside, New Zealand is a really nice place.

Need to cool down in Cannes? Leo Cornett the ice-cream van to the rescue. #CannesLions

Ben & Milo from Leo Burnett London actually drove from west Kennes to Cannes.... in an ice cream van. Their tumblr LeoCornett.tumblr.com keeps up with their whereabouts and last night they pulled in to the Majestic Hotel corner of the Croisette and delivered ice-cream to the tired adgeeks found wandering stumbling between the Palais and the bars. Follow them on twitter too @leocornett and you'll know where they may strike next. Just don't tell Cannes security, apparently they don't fancy random ice-cream trucks pulling in and delivering soft cones of joy to people unannounced.

Audi A6 - Click / Split second - (2012) :30 (UK)

Audi A6 - Click / Split second - (2012) :30 (UK)

Audi UK recently launched a major multi-million advertising campaign, created by BBH in collaboration with production by B-Reel, for the new A6 range that ran during England's first match at Euro 2012. A striking film - which highlights the A6 bi-turbo diesel's amazing ability to make 2,000 automatic decisions per second to assist the driver - premiered on ITV1 and ITV1HD during the England versus France game last Monday, June 12, 2012.

The slot, which is one of the most prestigious of the year, is the first of a fully integrated multi-platform campaign which will run until September.

The picturesque 40-second advertisement was filmed in Iceland, where the rugged terrain and extreme climate allowed the A6 to perfectly showcase the benefits of its cutting-edge technologies.

Is adidas racist or stupid?

Everybody's favorite German shoe company, adidas, decided the pair of JS Round House Mids with shackles would be just the thing to attract the hipster contingency.

Update Tuesday June 19: Adidas cancels release of 'shackle' trainers.

They didn't think a backlash would occur when they dropped these bangin' shoes on their Originals Facebook page. Complete with this quote: Tighten up your style with the JS Roundhouse Mids, dropping in August. Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?

Google search on "marriage equality" brings up rainbow marquee

Not sure I should call that a marquee, border or a bunch of colorful balloons but if you Google search the two words "marriage equality" and hit enter, you'll see the rainbow border below the search box.

It's not the first time Google tips their hat to marriage equality, the first time was in that Valentines day video love story this feb, where the happy couples shown at the end include a cat marrying a dog, a frog marrying a princess and a guy in a smoking marrying another guy in a smoking.

Google are taking a stand, while they show off a neat trick they know that they may or may not sell as adspace for any other search terms in the future.

Link lust: Boobvertising, copyright infringers sue their victims, and the non-future of FB&Google?

Photographer Threatened With Lawsuit by Woman Who Used Copyrighted Photo Without Permission ..... it's not your usual copyright infringement story, and you will be rewarded by this quote.

Specifically, the woman who just accused a political candidate of murdering one wife and violating another with an oversized member of the gourd family, admonished us about libel.

Ad guy not impressed by boobvertising. Choice quote:

California Lottery: Lady Luck revamped

Back in April, David & Goliath and The California Lottery dropped a new campaign called "Luck Has A New Look." Lady Luck seemed a bit like a cross between cat woman and Noreen Evans chimed in, saying "It is inappropriate for any entity, especially a state-funded Commission, to promote its products through the use of violence."
