The Big Bus Challenge 2011 winning idea was already done by WSPA in 2008

Ooops!. The Big Bus Challenge is a fun competition where the brief is to 'show off their skills with some brilliant Bus advertising', using the scale and shape of bus ads. The winning entry for the client Compassion in World Farming by ad agency Elvis Communications visually crammed sheep into the bus to remind us all that while we might think our commute stinks, animals have it far worse.

Which is all good, except WSPA already did exactly that back in 2008. On buses. And it was noticed.

Renowned fashion and beauty director Rebecca Blake, of Rebecca Blake Films A STORY Company, has directed a new campaign for Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo launching its innovative UV Cut collection. Conceived by Dentsu, Tokyo, the spot features Japanese model and actress Kiko Mizuhara (Norwegian Wood) who is shown wearing the young, fashionable clothing, which filters UV rays, in a stylized contemporary home overlooking a pristine ocean under a sunny sky.
The spot was shot on 35mm film and is notable for Blake’s innovative use of lighting and graphic design. Interior sequences employ a striking, angular pattern of light and shadow offering a subtle contrast to the geometry of the room. The effect was produced with a specially-designed lighting rig by cinematographer Deke Donelian.

Promoting Madden NFL 12, the spot posed a unique musical challenge, according to Greg Allan, CEO and Creative Director, take a classical piece of music, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, and transform it to into an urban, hip-hop track to support images of football teams competing on the gridiron.

Greenpeace are reaching out to South African citizens with some advice about global warming:

Le yawn. Feels like we've seen this exact layout before, but I guess I should alert you to the "edgy" ad from Awesomerags which depicts their fashion models in various sexual postions. Fully clothed of course. Like previous ads before it, the layout homages an old kama sutra poster.


USA Discounters: The things we stand for / Twin Towers declaration of Independence text ad

It's been ten years, time to yank out the 9/11 symbolism in advertising. The WTC Twin Towers here in this ad are created by the text from the declaration of independence. The body copy with the ad reads:

The things we stand for still stand.
While we mournfully observe the tenth anniversary of September 11, we give thanks for our military and rescue workers who heroically uphold our freedom.

SVT reports about yet another case of someone who got their facebook account deleted without warning. This time it's Roman Pixell. His "crime"? Like any other parent he snaps pictures of the offspring when they are in the cutest state... ie: sleeping. He posted the above image of his then 5 year old daughter fast asleep on a trendy 'nail mat', and she's not wearing a shirt in the photograph, heaven forbid!
