Blake Huber returns to Brand New School as Flame artist and lead compositor

NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES and LONDON — August 15, 2011 — Jonathan Notaro and his colleagues at international production company and design studio Brand New School (BNS, www.brandnewschool.com) are very proud to announce the appointment of Blake Huber to the position of Flame artist and lead compositor for their East Coast studio.

"We couldn't be happier to have Blake back," Jonathan said. "Since he left, we've all grown and come to appreciate what we had. Seldom do you meet Flame/VFX artists that understand VFX and design the way Blake does."

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Blake studied Radio/Television and Business at Indiana University, and at the encouragement of his professors, he left for Los Angeles soon after graduating in 1998.

Ad Chat - Snorre Martinsen

This week we bend the ear of fellow viking Snorre Martinsen, who seems to have the itch to travel. He's a senior creative at Saatchi & Saatchi Oslo, and can be found tweeting away at @snorrem when he's not planning viking raids in far-off lands.

What's your favorite funny story about yourself?
When I was born my mother was given the choice of either naming me Snorre, or Hårek. Hårek beeing the name of a drunken, fat viking cartoon my father thought brilliant in the early 70's.

What piece of art (movie, book, music, painting, etc) has influenced you most? How or why?

Wrong is the new right. Copying is the new left.

WWW.TOSAY.IT "Public Interventions" displayed in the Behance gallery, the artists say their project is all about "text, streets and internet as an artistic medium"... but what I see is a very familiar line, and funnily enough a very similar type treatment. What are the odds?

If you don't work in advertising or post in any way, you'll still find this amusing, If you do, you might laugh even harder.

"Sometimes we do full character creation, like OMG cat, which believe it or not, started out as an animation test by one of our interns. We didn't end up hiring him."

Woot! todays deal: a looted monitor "Swear on me mum, it's all above board."

Woot! is where you'll get a daily deal wrapped up in a hilariously written sales pitch, but this joke might just be a bit too soon. They're offering a Famous Maker 23" 1080p LED Monitor as if it were looted, complete with rioters vs police image on the monitor.

Look, mate, don't trouble yourself about where I got it. Let's just say I'm passing the savings on to you, yeh?
Swear on me mum, it's all above board. Me mate Gez 'ere can vouch for that, can't you, Gez? An' 'e should know. 'E's the one who, er, let's say took delivery of the merchandise 'imself, right, Gez? Got 'imself a right nasty cut climbing into the, eh, distribution center, too, 'e did. All part of our commitment to low low prices an' that.
