Dropbox DMCA takedown in personal private folder

We've known since last year that Dropbox will block public links to files that are infringing on copyright, and for a brief tweet moment, it seemed that they could do more than that. This here screendump makes it look like they can delete the files too, as Darrel Whitelaw discovered this message in his personal folder...

Sorry Taco Bell, Jack in The Box already talked to Ronald McDonald

Whats up, 2002? Despite Taco Bell's brand new ads touting their breakfast so yummy that Ronald McDonald likes it, Jack in the Box already explored that idea. In 2002. Go on, check it out.

What's amazing to me is that, since Taco Bell and Jack in The Box are both on the west coast, somehow people (account people, strategists, etc) failed to notice.

Freeperiod.se - free tampons in the mail, paid for by ads.

While women in tech are busy outing brogrammers, and adwomen are busy holding conferences about women in advertising, these three guys decided to start FreePeriod.se, a company that delivers free tampons to women, together with advertising. Yep, there's a regular monthly subscriber base ripe for special offers and targeted ads right there. You'd think a woman might have thought of it first, but I guess they were too busy with other things.

One thing though, isn't advertising on my tampons just a little creepy?

Vulfpeck releases silent album, mocks Spotify's pathetic royalties.

Brilliant. Funky R&B band Vulfpeck knows Spotify plays don't pay the bills. So the L.A.-based band is waving a middle finger to them, and promoting themselves and their upcoming tour in the process.

Goldieblox issues non-apology apology - WHO IS SURPRISED?

Goldieblox has posted the apology that they legally settled to do, instead of continuing into the court battle that Goldieblox started. It's a non-apology apology, hiding behind semantics, and its served as an image at the bottom of their website.

Beastie Boys settle for Goldieblox apology - and profit donated to girls charities

It's almost been two months since Golideblox and Intuit danced disruptively into the Super Bowl sunset. High fives and beer all around, copyright infringement be damned. Yay, Yay, Narrative Play!

Brand Palette - download brand's color palettes as CSS etc

Here's a neat site for the designers & art directors out there: Brand Colors. At a glance see what Dribbble, Dropbox, Coca Cola, Adobe, Dell, Flickr and Flattr have as their brand colors. You can download the colors as CSS, LESS, SCSS or ACE. You can sort the colors in collections, like music and photography. The only thing that would make this better if you could submit a color palette and automagically turn that into downloadable css. That would be magic. Our brand colors above, are not listed on the site... Yet. ;)
