If you can get to Cannes, Arnold can get you into the festival palace. Yep, that's right, they're giving away their ticket to Cannes Lions fest! They have a flat tire and can't go. True story.
What is the ADversaries challenge? It's the thing we all do anyway, we pit the greatest advertising icons against each other, and now there's an actual facebook page game for it, created by Texas ad agency Sanders\Wingo.
“What started as the typical creative debate about the industry developed into one of those ‘wouldn’t it be cool’ moments,” Executive Creative Director Shanteka Sigers, said. “Every single agency and every marketing department tosses around the conversation about industry icons. We just took it online to let everyone weigh in on naming the greatest.”
Amsterdam ad agency THEY are seeking interns who understands that a brief should... you know... be brief - and the best ideas can be briefly explained as well. So they set up a twitter-challenge, @TweetaBrief where they've tweeted out 140 char briefs and creatives can respond either with tweets or DM's.
The winning intern gets 6 months paid internship at THEY Amsterdam, and better still: "the winning intern will live in this neighborhood Plantage Muidergracht". OOoh, fancy. I hope they don't mean in the dodgy half-sunken boat on the left there.
There's only 24 hours left on this, answer one of these briefs for a chance to win!
Oslo city have launched a game at wantedinoslo.no , starring none other than The Hoff himself. "No one hides from the Hoff". Head to the website, put a picture of yourself in it and see if the Hoff can find you.
Here's a film teasing how Hoff will track you down.
"The most historic advertising decision since Pantone 128 vs. Pantone 129." Yes, The Big Adgig is on again, and it's up to you to vote for the video you think are good - chiseling the 15 video shortlist down to eight. Remember kids, every time you vote "a junior gets its wings". This explains all the fly-swatters seen in creative departments.
This is Sara Nitz' submission.
Satirical game about the troubling supply chain - can't have that. Phone Story is banned from App store.
Phonestory is an iPhone game that shows the "troubling supply chain" of how the minerals are mined in Coltran, the suicides at the factory in China and the fanboydom of getting the latest gadget whetherr you really need it or not. The plan of the game creators, molleindustria, was to redirect the money earned on the game to the organizations that are fighting corporate abuses.

Taking inspiration from a stained glass window, the cover is a kaleidoscope of brands interconnected created by Nguyen Tuong Luan, Art Director Nguyen An Hoa and Copywriter Do Duy Thien, who work at G2/Grey Group in Ho Chi Minh City.

The team tell of their late night coffee break which lead to the idea here.

Campaign has collected the cream of billboards & posters (and two of them are for the creme of Manchester) at the outdoor hall of fame, and wants you to help vote for the very best and your personal favorites. My tip is, start in the 60s, choose your favorites, and ignore the fact that "Reg on Smoking" shows up in the 80's category even if it was from 1992. Cast your votes, I have.
Pregnant or currently aiming to be? Well, if you pop out a dragon-slaying baby the 11/11/11 this year, you could be the happy winner of an unknown reward - provided you turn your child's name into ad-space for the Elder Scrolls V game by naming the baby Dovahkiin.
Announced on Bethesda's blog: Ladies and gentlemen - start your creation engines. They're taking it seriously enough to offer 'a Steam key that will grant you, and presumably Dovahkiin him/herself, every ZeniMax/Bethesda game - past, present and future - for life' but the rest of the unknown reward is still a secret, in other words they're just making this up as they go along. ;) It's been tweeted 153 times already, a sudden PR-boost they might not have expected, but they're having fun with it. Especially in the disclaimer.
Disclaimer: Any reward for completing this quest will not ultimately justify the potential teasing your child could - and probably will - endure over its lifespan. Bethesda Softworks is not responsible for your parenting. You may gain experience points for completing this quest, but you will not care at 3am on a work night. Completion of this quest may also result in decreased desire to play video games and/or function as a human being. Consult with your friends before embarking on this quest; while it may not start in prison, it probably ends there.
That reminds me Iuma Dylan-Lucas - named after Iuma.com - turns eleven years old this year. Back then it only cost 5000 dollars to name a kid after a .com
If you're sick of Super Bowl ad news, take a break by heading over to Design Observer and play "Name That Design Person!" with only a baby picture for clue. I've guessed David Carson on the little strawberry-blond baby above, based solely on the wee little nose, but I might be wrong and there's new baby pictures coming. Winners get a Designer Observer Tee. Oh, I hope I was right! I want a tee!

LONDON -- The principals of award-winning digital creative agency Ralph (www.ralphandco.com) are very proud to announce the launch of their latest project, an online test for the sensational new Penguin thriller "I Am Number Four."
Coca-Cola Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of a new action adventure online game targeting Irish teens called ‘Rumble Bug’, which was developed by Coke’s digital partner in Ireland, Cybercom.
The ‘Rumble Bug’ game draws its creative inspiration from the hugely popular ‘Heist’ TV Ad, launched in 2009. The side-scrolling, action adventure, flying game challenges players to navigate the bugs from the TV Ad through five different levels of increasingly difficult terrain to complete the game. En-route gamers also have the opportunity to collect icons to be in with the chance of winning phone credit, instantly, or entry into daily the draw for an iPod Touch.
Take a shot at creating this year's call for entries. - what's in it for me? "The winner will get a seat on the 2011 Andy Jury" OMG so exiting, I get to work for free as a reward for working for free, this new crowdsourced economy stuff really rocks.
Anyway, if you wanna take a crack at it, the way in is in the link above. If your squirrel fight doesn't include bad kung-fu moves and randomly playing dead, you fail. Watch the pro's below do it.
The wildfires in Russia are devastating and Russian troops are busy digging canals to protect nuclear sites.
"I woke up this morning, looked out of the window and saw a monstrous situation," said President Dmitry Medvedev. "We all want this heat wave to pass, but this is not in our hands, it is decided above."
But if there's one thing Russians are good at, it's making lemonade. While smoke rolls in over the cities, HTC started twitter contest for the best smoke photo, and a chance to win the new HTC Wildfire smartphone. You play by snapping a good photo and then hashtagging it #HTC_Wildfire and #smog. There hasn't been a press release yet, but Russians are already sending in lots of pictures to twitter - for us not eligible to compete it provides a realtime update of the current smog situation.
Maybe HTC should give these guys, who were suddenly surrounded by fire after driving into a village to help a phone as well, that footage can't be beat. (scary!)
