Viral BMW spot

Ouch!
That's what you think when you see this viral ad of a runner jogging through the woods. If you want to know why just have a look here (QT mpeg).

The provocative commercial plays with a shock effect to promote the principle of BMW tyres that never stop you from going on, even in case of a flat. The claim says "Continues where others stop" and exactly that's what you see in the commercial. It seems to be for Germany only as the copy is in German. No wonder. Germany is BMW land.

Crispin Porter and Bogusky plays strip poker

If a friend acted like this, we'd all be telling them "You know what your problem is? You need to get laid, really bad." Seems we've seen the undressed ideas apply to nearly everything from CP&B as of late. ;)

CP&B have yet again come up with a online sexay advergame/site. This one isn't too far fetched actually, as it is for Victorias Secret, and it combines the biggest net-craze right now, Poker, with near-nudity. Clever. Point your browser to Pink Panty Poker where you can see total strangers in their underwear playing poker. The campaign is supposed to target 18-24 year old women, so I guess that's why it's full of half-naked supermodels. ;)

Those equipped with windows media can head over to the New York Times and catch an iPod spoof The iPod Flea Ad Spoof.

This week, David Pogue has arranged for a special guest video artist: Scott Kelby, Photoshop maven. Last week, as he keynoted his own Mac Design conference, he played a hilarious Apple ad spoof for something called the iPod Flea, which I'm pleased to offer in its Web debut.

Nice viral idea for the wedding crasher, they invite you to crash the trailer. So I did, of course, and there might be some hot lesbian action going on in that trailer as I drag another redhead to the beach for some alone-time. Wanna make your own? Go right ahead.

Subservient Salesrep from Magnecote

Subservient Salesrep! You'll need your sound on for this one gang, Magnecote wants to know what you find attractive. The makers of the worlds most attractive paper are cunningly gathering new intel this way. ;)
The sales rep reads your responses and can't help but share her sarcastic remarks to the camera. Try "flowers", "rocker chicks" and watch her thinly veiled contempt when you suggest "lesbians". Hat tip Alec.

Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil

The next super-annoying ring-tone to replace the annoying frog this is the schnappi song sung buy 8-year old Joy Gruttman. The extremly catchy tune about a small crocodile has it's own little webgame as well. Play it here, and download the song, watch the video, etc.
Joy's song even knocked Robbie Williams himself off the charts as her single has already sold over 1 million copies it's claimed. The UK release of the single is planned for August 22nd. For anyone who speaks Swedish the German lyrics are hilarious when little Joy does her breakdown mid-song, "schnipp-schnapp-snopp..." as "snopp" means trouser snake to us. Tee hee heee!

Stretching to the limits for self promotion

Netsummary.dk shares this really bizarre self promotion stunt. Garry Turner sent this in to "One Step Beyond" producer Claire Mandile in the hopes of being featured on the show. We reckon he has a good chance, what do you think?

Garry's "resume" is in the Guinness book of world records.

Stop Global Poverty Campaign...

As part of the build up for the global campaign to stop extreme poverty, the Gates' (yup Bill and Melinda) signed ddb seattle to produce a campaign based upon a speech given recently by nelson mandela in norway. ddb produced a set of 60 second spots that are running in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy and Japan. The campaign is aimed at driving public response in these G8 nations to push for a commitment to stop global poverty.

To make things a bit more cutting edge, there are a set of microsites that correspond to the spots, and have the full 13 minute speech online.

Monopoly on the real streets of London

Fancy a game of live Monopoly? An interesting twist on the old board game comes from Hasbro as they celebrate the 70th year of the popular game. The London edition has had a complete makeover, and there's a live game on the internet. London is the real-life playing board, while cabbies are the playing pieces. The cabbies have been kitted out with GPS (Global Positioning System) so their whereabouts are known, when they land on other players places you're fined, when others land on your property you rack up the cash. It's the world's biggest game of Monopoly and London is the worlds biggest playing board. Try it.

For those simply curious to see what it is like, you may try logging in as me. Username monopoly at* sinless.org and password adland. (* a proper @-sign naturally.)

AIDS issues aren't getting enough media attention these days, it's as if there's a burnout, especially when it comes to AIDS in Africa. Never fear, a new wave of attention grabbing stunts will put AIDS in Africa firmly back in the front of mind, first up was AIDES.org last week with their viral film comparing numbers with the tsunami, and now comes the DAA.
