Auctioning off Carrie's colon on Ebay

Stayfree magazines website opens on spoofed magazine covers for todays potential niche market readers, their site has articles from the magazine as well as the Stayfree blog.
The Stayfree posse and Carrie couldn't help but spoofing the inane body-part advertising space auctions on Ebay as of late, and decided to auction off Carrie's colon as advertisig space. Oh Boy! Their auction is modelled after that pregnant ladies auction, who in turn probably got the idea from those pregvert ads two years ago.

Lee and Dan signed to Quad productions, London.

I just spoke to Nathalie Le Berre at Quad Productions London, who tells me that Lee and Dan of volkswagen polo viral ad fame have just been signed to them.

"It's a perfect fit for us really, we also have Remy Belvaux who made the film Man Bites Dog, and they'll get along like a house on fire, we thought we must get these guys onboard. We are very happy they have joined Quad London as a directing duo, because we think they are just brilliant, and have the same sense of humor that we have."

Lee and Dan will be available for commercial shoots, viral or not, as well as traditional agency work as they both come from an ad agency background. "It's what they are good at and enjoy doing."

Quad Productions is a European production company with offices in Paris and London. Directors with them include Bruno Aveillan who is known for bigger more complicated jobs like the Bailey's ads forBBH and the Thermasilk ads for JWT New York, Frank Devos who did Zazzoo and Hansaplast, Stephane Levallois who directed the short film 'Carcan' in which a super fit girl in a leather catsuit strips off her suit to slowly reveal she has a fat body...
For Graphics they work with Digital Kitchen who are an American collective for a mix live action/animation/graphics as well as doing broadcast design, they have done Six Feet Under & the Nip Tuck opening sequences. Quad London is run by producer/MD Ben Mann.

Crazy frog gets to keep his ding-ding

60 people have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the Crazy Frog commercial... But not about the annoying ringtone tune that latches on to your brain and will never go away, not about the insane people who actually like this tacky earwig torture, no - they complained about the Crazy Frogs wee willy.

The ASA ruled that Crazy Frog's penis might have been "unusual" but that it was not "inappropriate" reports the Media Guardian.

To be fair, of the 60 people who complained some said that the advert was annoying and on television too often. Kudos.

The idea for "The Future" stemmed from the idea that everyone feels the world of tomorrow is a bit gloomy and terrible. We thought that in this atmosphere it might be inspiring to bring back that optimism from the 70's that had a fantastic and "musical" idea of how the future might be.

Padded timesheets at Ogilvy, Federal prosecutors not pleased

Oh No, they're on to us!
AdAge reports that Ogilvy and Mather who worked on the White House anti-drug ad account undertook an"extensive effort to falsify timesheets" in a conspiracy to defraud the government, and that "hundreds of Ogilvy employees were instructed to lie" about the hours they billed.

"Creative people do not want to be troubled with timesheets." That's right folks. We don't understand numbers, we think 1+1=5! But at least we are good at what we do;

The quality of Ogilvy's work was not at issue, Ms. Berger conceded. "I expect you will hear the ONDCP was extremely impressed by the quality of work" Ogilvy did, she told the jury.

Tories attack Labour for anti semetic ad campaign.

In a case of classic spin doctoring, the Tories are attacking the Labour party for their anti-semitic posters depicting Michael Howard and Oliver Letwin as pigs. Another poster featured Mr Howard swinging a pocket watch on a chain and the strapline, "I can spend the same money twice." The pose has been likened to that of Jewish pickpocket Fagin from Charles Dickens' Oliver and money lender Shylock from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.
"The accusations amount to a huge amount of bugger all," said a source at Labour to the Guardian. "The story is a load of bollocks."
