Welcome to cynical Advertising 101. Pander to GEN X by stoking the nostalgia flames. Too bad the car doesn't fit the demographic. How is living a little akin to driving around in a glorified minivan?

This ad, above, is the self-banned ad of the week from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board campaign - see the rest on facebook - that shows the dark side of what happens when you drink too much. You might end up in fights, hanging out with the "porcelain prince" all evening, have condoms break on you, cheat on your boyfriend or... get raped. From the image showing a women lying on what may be a bathroom floor the viewer will probably conclude that when you're unconscious and can't actually say no, rape is your fault. The copy on the campaign website even went so far to blame the victims friends. Now it's everyones fault. Except the rapists, of course.

Joelapompe has found a fashion-with-guitars layout that looks almost traced. Not a traced as Nazi meat though.
This looks like a case of 'demo love' that can easily turn into copyright infringement, as the example shown there with Dexim copying the work of photographer Jamie Nelson. Digital layouts have a lot to do with the uptick of this sort of thing.

Here's a cute pairing, is the Swedish rapping ad from "Wapnö Drängar", the fictional hip-hop crew of Wapno milk farm a rip-off of the UK advert from Yeo Valley showing off the mad cow rapping skills of the "Yeo Valley Boyz"? The Yeo Valley one even has a iTunes single and wikipedia page. Lets compare!

Everyone seems agog with the Blood fountain stunt for True Blood in Romania. Feels like I've seen this before (I even thought I might have seen it for True Blood but I might have been thinking of Dexter's bloody urinals). From top to bottom, the most recent Blood Fountain stunt, Romania.

Remember the Amnesty posters that depicted torture in far off lands as if they were happening where the poster was? The visual trick used was the transparent meme that hit it big on Flickr earlier, which might have inspired the posters. Later similar ideas appeared Kids company was badlanded for being similar to Amnesty, in execution at least.
