GMC uses swimwear to attract attention
Three ads with models in graffittied swimwear appear in SI's Swimsuit issue. The ads have no copy besides "Advertisement" at the top corner of the page, and a url to BeyondTheDrawingBoard which shows up on the suits. The link goes to a microsite for GMC touting their new Yukon model.
I'd have to wonder how effetive this ad is. Will guys looking thorugh the magazine at ladies in swimwear (or nothing at all) really notice this is as an ad, or even bother going to check out the url?

Toshiba print ad raises questions- (2006) Print (USA)
If I wasn't in advertising, I don't think what's stopping me would have been this Toshiba ad. The other day I came across it and it left me perplexed. But from the look on the model's face, it doesn't seem like I'm the only one. Perhaps you adgrunts can help shed some light on the situation. Is he standing outside a prison? (note the bars on the window) What's with the tool belt? Why does he look confused? And what the heck is going on with the random old lady?

Kick ass posters for unbreakable glasses
Oogappel optricians on von Baerlestraat in Amsterdam has a new 'wild plakken' poster campaign out in the Dutch city - one that spoofs those infamous kickboxing and wrestling posters to make a point. Read more to see the campaign.
Guerilla campaign with holes in it
Actually that's not fair, the guerilla campaign created by Duval Guillaume in Brussels for the Overpoort Bowl doesn't have holes in it - rather it is holes. Three of 'em! Stuck as a sticker on any round object it instantly turns helmets or salad heads into bowling balls.
Volkswagen christmas greeting
As I was slipping down Strøget today in the mushy snow I kept cussing out the VW seasons greeting "snow" card created by DDB New Zealand, beacuse dammit I wish I had thought of that one. Read more to see it.
Getting it on? Get it on.
The Hub, out of Lancashire, UK, has completed a public awareness campaign for the NHS aimed at reducing numbers of young people having unprotected sex after a night out drinking. The campaign ran throughout Decemeber and early January using outdoor, posters, and radio.
The various executions include images of young couples 'getting it on' in pubs, clubs and at parties and feature a condom tacked to the image with the words 'Get it on' scribbled across the packet.
San Francisco Mini Poster
This mini poster, spotted in December in San Francisco, has a 'real' Mini car driving around the track.
