Good points suddenwaffle. I*d also add that it might take some time to be able to pay your dad back too once you start working. Starting out, like in any industry, you*re probably not going to make a ton of money. But in time, and with hard work (all of what suddenwaffle said), you can.

No, finding a job is not easy. That*s been said so many times, yet for ssome reason juniors never realize this until they graduate...so if you do decide to go for it, go in knowing the truth. This is a very comepetitive business and rightly so. But if you*re talented, driven, and plain lucky, you*ll probably land a great job. And, depending on how much you owe your dad (in my case my *dad* was a bank), you should be able to pay him off in a few years. If you become very successful and are willing to devote 14+ hrs a day to your work, and those sunny weekends, you*ll then have a chance to make loads of cash. All of those schools you mentioned will get you there. Look into UT and VCU and FIT and SVA as well. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, cheerleaders and detractors, and this subject has been discussed to death on very industry board. Know that before you apply to any of those schools for either art direction or copywriting, you should either be a talented designer or writer already. And you should already be very *creative.* They won*t teach you those basic fundamentals. They*re portfolio *finishing* schools that focus on the business of advertising, strategy and concepting. Good luck.
