If the Wassup! ads don*t work, than why does Budweiser throw so much money into advertising? Their advertising money came from somewhere.....probably from ex-Amstel Light drinkers! smile

You can keep your opinions. Brand advertising can be highly effective, if used correctly.
Bud may not have won over a bunch of drinkers because of their Whassup ads, but they did definitely increase their brand awareness. And who knows (unless you have the figures in front of you), younger drinkers who don*t know any better, might have switched from Miller to Bud because of it. Then again those who don*t like Bud-like beers weren*t going to start drinking it no matter what advertising it was.
OK, I know what you say. Provocation! But it*s not. It*s the truth. Nobody reads them. Nobody notices what brand they promote. Except for advertising people who can than have little competitions amongst themselves.
Because if it did work, people would know which clothes brand clothes Anna Kournikova. But people just want to check out her tits. Wether it*s Nike, Adidas, Reebok or Puma (the last is fun for Swedish speaking people) doesn*t matter. The same with rice beer Budweiser (yes the American crap). It was fun to scream WHASSUP! for a while. But does it make you drink more Bud? No, it makes you reach for your favourite beverage because you*re thirsty. If your favourite is Bud I pity you...
