Honda Accord car ad (which appears to defy gravity), circa m

Thanks for the reply and glad somebody out there remembered the ad. Didn*t realize it went that far back to 1992. Now that I know the year, I*ll keep looking on the net. Was almost positive JL was the VO, although he only said a few words at the end of the ad. If you find your scrape book, would really appreciate you letting me know the ad agency who produced it.

Looking for a TV ad for an Honda Accord, showing the car on display as a piece of artwork, mounted (like a picture) on a vertical wall in a museum, while a guy standing on the horizontal museum floor admires the car on the wall. He then proceeds to walk to the wall, and actually climbs partly up the wall, opens the car door, climbs in and then drives the car off the side of the screen. The ad was narrated by the late actor, Jack Lemmon, had a great lone trumpet music soundrack, and was done in one, continuous shot, with no camera edits or tricks, and no digital effects. The illusion was to defy gravity and the ad looked simply astounding. I*ll never forget it!!!

Does anyone recall this great, visually arresting ad, know its exact name, or know where I can download a copy? I checked and it is not here in ADLAND.

Yes I remember that ad... I cut out an article about it and pasted into my first (ad)scrap book actually. Shame I can*t find that scrap book now - those things accumilate over the years.

But I can tell you a more specific year, it wasn*t mid-nineties. The campaign broke in 1992 and adweek hailed it to the sky on it*s first day or airing.

Knowing the year I searched around.. But when searching for JackLemmon I found only another campaign (also funny) but not the one you are looking for. Come to think of it.. I*m not so sure that Jack was the VO for the museum spot.

Honda Civic del Sol

It*s so windy out a man can barely walk to his car. VO (Jack Lemmon) "Presenting the new Honda Civic del Sol. It*s a sporty, open-top car with a very remarkable feature. When it*s windy outside, it*s not-so-windy inside." It*s a beautifully art-directed ad for a car that no longer exists-although many of its wind-defying features have graduated into other Honda and Acura models.

I wish I could find my scrap book so I could find the ad agency credits at least.. /

I*ll keep looking anyway.
