Despite my years of training in the arts of the dark side at business schools in Copenhagen and Melbourne, I managed to escape the suit, fortune had in store for me. Instead I became a copywriter and got blessed with the opportunity to work with what really interests me: How great communication can change the world. Grand words indeed, but I truly believe that the right message at the right time can work wonders.
The trick of course is to figure out the ‘right’.
I believe I’m good at that because I combine two essential skills in the advertising industry: A strategically inclined brain honed by page after page of dreary business books, and a creative heart and soul through natural talent. Both skills are needed. Because advertising may not be an art form, but it is certainly not a science either.

Now let's hope that other award shows will listen and learn.Posted: 2 years 36 weeks agoon the post: One Show to Ban Scam-Ad Creators for Five Years (yes, because of that DDB WWF ad)

Nuxx said:Aidonline is dead – and probably rightly so, since the legality and ethics were fishy. I haven’t heard of anything but Berlingske blocking visitors with adblockers, but I’m sure there’s a few other examples out there. [rant] To me this is nothing but a pathetic attempt to breathe some fleeting life into an already dead business model: The internet banner ad. Advertisers have never spent so much money on banner ads, and gotten as little response, as they do now. And it’s not just because consumers have become oblivious to them, it’s worse. They show increasing dislike towards them in media survey after media survey. But still advertisers pump obscene amounts of money in their direction (in Denmark Internet advertising media spending are larger than for tv and print), and content sites do their best to hide the fact that these advertisements show sharply diminishing returns – even to the point of blocking their own consumers. No-one seems to be willing to point out that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes. Because who dares attack “new media”? If you do that you’re nothing but a conservative dinosaur who refuses to move on. [/rant]Posted: 2 years 47 weeks agoon the post: Berlingske blocks readers who have adblockers installed.

Nuxx said:Definitely Sunsilk. I'm not a woman, but I once spoke to one in a bar. Based on that experience I believe the Sunsilk spot appeals much more to the target group. While the joke is obvious, the execution has a certain self-irony that reflects the value of the product: Out-hairing your friends. The Herbal Essence one must have been done by a man. No-one else would jump at the opportunity to show a naked woman taking an outdoor shower. And no-one else really thinks it's funny to show a biker with luscious, curly hair - might make for a good ad, though. rgds/holgerPosted: 4 years 34 weeks agoon the post: Clash of the Commercials I - Lather.
