The director and DP (or the editor) seem so bent on aritifically adding excitement and energy through constantly moving cameras, quick cuts and so forth but I find it distracting. I think it interferes with the power of the spot though it does improve towards the end. I keep thinking of Truffaut's comment about Robert Altman's M*A*S*H. Never once did he put the camera in the right place. Richard Gere did a similar spot for an airline (maybe JAL?) about 10 or so years ago. He insisted that they shoot him playing the piano. He pretended he was in an art film. It looks like he scored another big pay day to do the same thing. Plus, the rip of the old NY campaign leaves me wondering what these people were thinking...
