  • yeah, I agree if it happened after hours, none of my business. I was shocked with the blow job tour partially supported by company.... At my office, more than 3/4 of accounts are men, so as 100% male management. I don*t think I have place to complain to. So I guess no other choices but leaving... You*ll never find out what*s the office like unless you start to work there. There is always something to learn...

  • So...for agencies in the Netherlands, is it proper and acceptable to put one-day-trip buying hookers in the itinerary of company*s offical training trip is acceptable? what do female staffs do while you*re ejaculating off? watching? no offence. out of curiosity.

  • It sounds a joke, but it*s really happened... To make it precise, CD didn*t go to the one day sex tour, but all other male creative went on the last day of the training. Is this red card level? or yellow card? Or do you think "hey! they*re creative guys. they*re different. you should accept it"-level?

  • Hi, I*m a female creative working for a branch office, Europe oriented network agency, 50% foreigner, 50% local. And this is all about sexuality...or, well, sexual harassment. 1) Advertising industry is still male dominant.--->I knew it and I took it. 2) Creatives are frankly speaking. Sex jokes float around a lot.---> yup, I kinda understood the culture. Accept it. 3) There are 10 staffs in my creative department and I*m only female. The rest are male (and straight) ---> hmmm, ...maybe just a coincidence... 4)On the creative department*s trip for training, the hotel was booked in the middle of red-light district ,include mine---> hold on... 5) On the same training trip, all the department ,except me, went along one day trip to buy hookers.---> Should I accept it because I*m working for Creative department at advertising agency? Am I too naive?

  • wow, great info. Yes, we are talking about da spin off. You have lots of connections> Dabitch Thanks a lot. I*ve been asked to be in junior creative team, although I*m solo. (I assume they may have a writer intern to team up with me) Thanks for the advice> Robblink I understand your point. My problem is I*m currently living in a country as expat. Which means unless I find job by end of December, I*ll lose my visa and have to go home, Japan, where advertising is totally different. At this moment, I don*t have any full-time offer, the intern would be the best although considerably demotion. I*ll update later how it goes. Thanks. BTW, where can I find the agency*s work? The HQ*s web site don*t have Amsterdam*s and couldn*t find any at Adforum, adland, adformatie, nor archive. confused

  • Thank you for the advice, Dabitch. I wondered how I can whisper the name in public.....I found the agency*s recruiter posted a topic by herself in other forum; Job sections...and you, Dabitch, posted a reply to it. They*re pretty new in AMS. Does this work to you?>Dabitch I was in AMS last year, supposedly to do freelance at an agency. but they totally screwed me. When I showed up, was told the job canceled and they never filled with any other jobs....of course no pay. Hence I found advertising industry in AMS might be dodgy, or everywhere. That was a painful lesson. I agree when agency invite you but on your own cash, they generally look for someone who work for almost free or disposable.

  • Hi, I*ve been at a-not-bad-agency in Asia for a year as junior AD after graduated from one of portfolio school. Released from the job last month, due lost of the biggest account/politics there (they laid off all women in the dep but no men). mad Now I have an offer of 6months* internship at one of high profile agency in Europe, ok Amsterdam. My question In Europe or AMS, do you consider internship as try-out? I*m not sure getting back to intern after full time AD.
