Russian Social media site Odnoklassniki rebrands as OK

Odnoklassniki is Russia's second largest social media site. It's full of user generated content, mostly photos and videos. To rebrand itself as a more modern and exciting site, Odnoklassniki is rebranding itself starting with the domain. It is now called Ok.Ru, and it has a whole new look to go along with the name. To celebrate the change, designer Karim Rashid created three unique visual themes for the OK home page.

When you go to the landing page, you are greeted with one of three themes. The background designs are fluid, and move amoeba-like.

Gavin McInnes fired for having an dissenting opinion

Adweek reported yesterday that Gavin McInnes was forced to take an indefinite leave of absence from his CCO role at New York shop, Rooster, following an essay written on Thought Catalog called "Transphobia is Perfectly Normal." Lovely bit of linkbait wouldn't you say? I wonder how many people actually read it.

ASA clears "masturbator" Paddy Power ad

Un-banned ad of the week, this ad depicting Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage caught in the middle of... eh.. debating, and coupled with with the headline "WHO'S THE BEST MASS DEBATER? CLEGG 6/4 FARAGE 1/2 ..." seems to suggest that they're actually masturbating. Two people complained!

R.I.P. Robin Williams, the creative's creative

I didn't know Robin Williams, but his work was pretty special for me personally. Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society were there at the very beginning of my understanding of war and life and death, and for that, I'm truly grateful. He didn't create those things himself, nobody does, but the soul of the story was in him, and his ability to take the madness of the mind and bring it alive through words was unique and unparalleled. Anyone who worked with him is singing his praises right now, and there's no more fitting tribute to the man than the body of work he left behind.

We presume Joe Harrison did this partly to quell his own curiosity and partly to show off and impress people. Responsivelogos. Well it worked, Joe. We're impressed. Joe Harrison wants to remind trademark owners and viewers stopping by that it's a personal experiment and not actually affiliated with the brands in any way. Yet. Because y'all are gonna call him now, aren't you?

Amy Nicholson Joins Supply & Demand

Supply & Demand has added filmmaker Amy Nicholson to its roster. A creative director, commercial director and Oscar qualifying documentarian, Nicholson arrives with vast agency experience on accounts for Nike, Prudential, Yoplait, Black & Decker, Coke, Heineken, HP and ESPN.

Memorable work includes Snapple at Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners where Nicholson created the classic “Snapple Lady" campaign that saw Wendy Kaufman read out letters from consumers in her thick, Long Island accent.
