The Recording Industry: fiddling while Rome burns.

In a few short days, we’ll see the first annual Youtube Music Awards with Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Eminem, and more. Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts are hosting and Spike Jonze is directing.

Jonze is quoted in a Rolling Stone interview as saying: “This is not a red carpet, fancy, pre-packaged, pre-produced thing. I like the idea of making it about music and videos as opposed to everybody getting dressed up."

World's first banner ad still performs really well.

Remember the AT&T "You will" campaign? The one that had the worlds first banner ad with it? We celebrated its tenth birthday, almost ten years ago here (gasp!) and with any luck we'll be cheering in Jolt Cola next year for the 20th too. The first site to run that ad was Hotwired, and the campaign began on October 24, 1994, when the internet as we know it was still in diapers. Dan Barker decided to test how this ad performs today, so he ran it again.

Dont be a workwanker

If you or someone you know is a work wanker, there is no hope for you. Luckily there is a site called Workwankers in which you or someone you know can now be called out with humor and killer illustration style. Funny stuff.

The wankers in question range from pervy men, to dinosaur ECD's to the obligatory person with accent, to constant name droppers. In other words, everyone who works in advertising.
