Film students Filip Remunda and Vit Klusak fooled 1,000 people into coming to a nonexistent mall.

To explore the power of advertising, Film Academy (FAMU) students Filip Remunda and Vit Klusak set out to build the largest spoof ad campaign the country has ever seen. Ad spots were broadcast on Czech Television (CT) and on the radio for Cesky Sen, and the public transportation system displayed posters. Flyers were distributed to unsuspecting passersby.

IKEA stands for Ingvar Kamprand Elmtaryd och Agunnaryd. The first is the founders name, the third and fourth are the small towns in småland where the Ikea saga began. Particle Board in swedish = spånplatta - say that ten times fast.

The Washingtonpost reports on the Ikea Dreamers that are camping out in style as they wait for the first Ikea store to open in Prince George County - they are camping outside in a large tent provided by Ikea, much like fans of popstars que up for concert tickets days in advance. They must be desperate for cheap colorful designer furniture and knick-knacks around there.

Now someone explain to me again why bottled water is more expensive by volume than gasoline, bleach and most other convenience store beverages!?

Oh yeah - because we're silly enough to continue buying it at that price.

Acclaim Entertainment who last year gathered headlines such as "death to advertising as we know it" as they advertised for 'Shadow Man: 2econd Coming' on gravestones in the UK, has done it again, this time they're advertising on pigeons.

Spike Jonze sad story about a lamp won the Grand Prix in Cannes Lions.

Suddenly I owe countless people beers, as I had bet on the other favorite "Cog" spot for Honda to win, despite the wrench in the cog.

The Ikea ad was made by Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami. This is the fourth year in a row where the Grand Prix has gone to a US based agency.

U.S. shops won just three Lions in Press & Poster, not one of them Gold. India did better, winning two Golds and three Lions in all. Last year, the U.S. won a world-beating 15 Lions.
This year, on the other hand, belonged to Brazil, which landed 16 trophies, followed by Spain with 11, France and South Africa with 10 each, Germany with nine, and the United Kingdom with eight.

Coke driver fired for drinking Pepsi

SYLMAR, Calif. -- Union officials were up in arms Friday after a 12-year route driver for Coke was allegedly fired after management discovered he was drinking a Pepsi. NBC 4 reports. Rick Bronson, a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 848, was fired Thursday after someone reported him to management for drinking a Pepsi, according to the union.

Coke fired Bronson under a company rule that bars "slander".

(Evansville, IN) The EVSC needs more funding, and one of the possibilities is an exclusive soft drink contract.

On Monday night the EVSC school board looked at a proposal from Coca-Cola to help pay for extracurricular activities. It's a five-year deal worth about $2.5 million. During the first year $700,000 would be paid.
