I signed up -> got no email -> self horribly deflated

So you signed up, double-checked that you spelled your email correctly, and you still didn't receive your welcome/password email. What gives?

Some email servers don't like us and it's pretty common that hotmail.com sends our email to your junk mail folder check in there. Aol.com seems to eat our emails too - some people get them, some don't, some find them in their junk mail folder. If you have any control over a junk mail whitelist try and whitelist the address hostmaster AT adland.tv where our mails come from.

Naturally if something like this happened before you whitelisted our addy you can retrieve your password, and that email will go through.

I created an account last week, and didn't try to log in until now, but the site says I don't have an account - what gives?

So many people make the mistake of mistyping their emails - gmali.com instead of gmail.com being a very frequent example - and spambots sign up with fake accounts here often, so we clean out accounts that have never been logged into after a few days. If you log in, even just once, and begin filling out your personal page and add your personal avatar image, you're safe but if you wait a full week for whatever reason it's likely that your account was deleted with the other dead ones.

How do I set a desktop "wallpaper" background image?

Replying to questions like these is eating up much of my time, hence I'm now adding them to the FAQ.

Right. On a mac, you either "long click" (that means hold the mouse-button down until you get a pop-up menu) or right click until you see this menu. Choose the "set as desktop image" option. Ta-dah. You're done.

Searching the site - in ten different ways.

Quite a few adgrunts who grew accustomed to our previous search are wigged out by the new one which acts a little different. Here are som tips to let you play with new ways of searching the sites mass of content.

Let say, you're looking for Nike ads. Using the search box underneath the telly up on the right (or go straight to advanced search type in Nike and get the results.

Maybe you only want to see commercials in your results - use the advanced search to look for commercials only which will bring your results back with the leading screnshot attached, this makes it easier to find the ad you are looking for with fewer search terms.
