From marker roughs to finished ad, the PG tips story

Students, curious onlookers, clients and ad-dicts alike should promptly leave here and go read David Dye's "Encounters with Monkey", which is a treasure trove of marker roughs to finished comps in the PG tea campaign. All those little decisions along the way, translating a marker rough to a real ad, they make a world of difference. And as a bonus, the full story on how "monkeh" went from the ITV ad campaign to PG tips tea.

Over the last couple of months I’ve had quite a bit of feedback from colleges; ‘Do more posts that go through the decision making process, we like them best’.
It’s flattering that the colleges are using my blog, but weird for me, because if I’ve got the choice of interviewing say…Dave Trott or talking about why I picked Futura over Baskerville or preferred the word kerfuffle more than brouhaha, I’d choose the former every time.

That's because you're you, David. You're going to have to accept the fact that budding ad-pups and seasoned co-workers alike just love watching this process and you've now become our drug of choice. Thanks for sharing!
