Inquiry Regarding Potential Sale of Adland Website

It's so nice to be chatted up, dontchathink? It feels so web 2.0 when people ask us if we'll sell. We've been here before mind you (remember 1999? I do.) but this is still the funniest proposition yet. How much google stock should we ask for? Never trust a lawyer that uses gmail some say - I say never trust a lawyer who is also a comedian. "Your honor, she's leading the witless!" - full email inside.

Dear Ask Dabitch,

I am an attorney and business broker acting on behalf of a client who is interested in the possibility of acquiring your website "Adland," including all its underlying operations and assets.

The client is a small, privately-held company based in the United States.
The company wishes to remain anonymous at this time, but is open to either a stock, cash, or hybrid deal. Here are some initial questions for you at this time:

1. Are you interested in selling the website and its underlying operations and assets?

2. Can you envision relinquishing the properties to a new owner in their entirety?

3. If so, do you have a price in mind for the property of Adland and all its content?

4. Would you prefer to be involved with the project that would result out of an acquisition?

I can be reached at the following email. I will wait to hear from you either way, and I appreciate your time.

Best, Azhar M. Usman, Esq.

Azhar Usman?
The comedian?
The patriotic American muslim (qt mov.)?

Naah, can't be - Azhar M. Usman works for Afeef Law Offices as far as I can google, and they do everything from practising in personal injury, employment discrimination, criminal, civil rights, family, medical malpractice, products liability etcetera and so on - hmmm, I don't see anything about setting up gazillion-dollar google buy-outs there. Oh poo!

So, as for
#1 - are you interested in giving us craploads of moolah?
# 2 depends on how many digits are in your number one offer - so there. Hint - there should be at least nine.
#3 yes I do, what of it?
#4 Actually, I'm one of the assets, so you'd need to keep me on the payroll.

And what is it with the Capitalise Every Word In A Subject Thing? They Are Not All Equally Important Cut It The Hell Out.

(For the record, I replied to the email at once on the 18th, and I've emailed the Afeef Law Offices - I have yet to receive a reply back from either. I'm not playing hard to get, this proposal is fake.)

Adland® is supported by your donations alone. You can help us out by buying us a Ko-Fi coffee.

So true Dabitch. So true :)

Just to be clear - the comedian by night is a lawyer by day. See muslim lawyers net.

Can't be serious. If he were he'd reply, sent an actual letter or even called you. All your contact information is easily found on the site.

I wonder if publishing this has helped or hurt your price. ;)

I concur. Things would not be the same without you. But it could be great if they had a team of designers and coders and tech help working on the site so that you could just write posts instead of doing everything else and then some.

Assuming it's real, anyone care to guess who the small, privately-held company based in the United States might be?

I just had a twisted thought... What if this is all a devious plan to garner attention for Azhar Usman the comedian!? Like a viral. Oy! Then he's a better advertiser than I. Cunning, mate.

That's just SICK! You're probably right. Has he replied yet? We'll never know.
