Great stuff! Especially like the font. "Wouldn't have been possible without generous donations from America". Brilliant. So much for General Westmoreland's "We'll bomb them back into the Stoneage" eh?

I too like the "generous donations" line.

I don't think I'll be showing these to my husband, though -- he was a Tunnel Rat (Australian, not US). 100% casualty rate. His turn finally came in Hue, just a week before his tour was up.

Do you mean everyone (Tunnel Rats, that is) was either injured or killed when on mission? (When I first read your post, I thought you said 100% fatality rate - and I was going to ask, how the hell would you show this to your husband?. Oh, well.)

Yep, as far as I know every single Tunnel Rat was killed or injured in the tunnels. Certainly every one in Colin's outfit. Presumably a few of the very last ones got lucky.

Here's a good description of the Australian Tunnel Rats. When Col got his, he went down a tunnel headfirst and got blown back out headfirst. Nobody's ever been able to explain how, except that the laws of physics do strange things in explosions. Spent the next two years in hospital, and was originally predicted to be a vegetable, so the lad's done good.
