Does McDonald's realize that in some cultures that exact "pinky salute" means "I'm going to go to the bathroom"? I'm some people would be ROTFL, while others would be offended. Pretty ethnocentric for a company who is worldwide!

PermalinkIn Japan, a discreet pinky-salute means "boyfriend". But this ad aired only in the USA, so neither cultural pinky salute scandal is relevant here. We wouldn't want a country telling another one off, like with those super speedwalking Snickers Bars ads and that KFC Fried chicken ad, just because they saw it on the web and their culture reads it differently. Oh, wait, that does happen.
