Armor All - Respect / You don't deserve that - (2013) :30 (USA)

The latest comedy-driven spot for Armor All, via DDB Worldwide San Francisco and Community Films' director Matt Smukler, shows car owners what could happen if they do not respect their cars.

Negligent car owners beware: you’d better show your ride the right amount of respect or you just might get a visit from the Armor All Viking. He’s the star of Armor All’s latest spot, and he has a serious bone to pick with people who don’t take care of their cars. To him, a car is a privilege and if undeserving owners aren’t careful he’ll show up in his shiny custom Viking–mobile and repossess their wheels, their Armor All…and their women.

Health Promotion Agency - Say Yeah, Nah - (2013) 1:00 (New Zealand)

To curb that binge drinking culture, DraftFCB decided to show another angle, you can still act like a drunken hooligan karaokeing and carrying on, despite not having more beers in you. No problem mate, just say Yeah, Nah, then chase down a bus full of pretty girls while tearing your shirt off. Imagine all the people, being sober but still acting drunk. It's easy if you try.

Warning, awkward bro-hug at the end.

h2go water - How Refreshing / Air Aquarium - (2013) :60 New Zealand

It was only a matter of time that those Fish-zeppelins we've been buying off the intarwebs to fly around the office made it into an ad. "Everyday should be a little bit different. Add some colour with h2go. How refreshing. ". Wait, I haven't told you the best part yet. This is directed by Ryan Heron via Flying Fish production. Ha ha HA! I know! Right, so what was the product again? Fish-balloons?

Holland - The Original Cool - (2013) 2:00 (The Netherlands)

Like any place on earth, Nederlanders die Engels spreken dus een Nederlands accent, but unlike the Swedish one which I can't stand I think the Dutch-English accent is kinda cute. Especially when they say "of" instead of "or" because their synapses just can't handle or being anything but of. So here we're greeted by a Dutch man named Pim de Koel. Yes, De Koel. Pronounced just like cool. According to advertising legend he was born on Queensday, which is one helluva party, and now he's enticing us all to visit Holland. Yes, Holland, not the Netherlands.

PETA "98 Percent Human" (2013) :30 (USA)

PETA loves exploiting your emotions. Nothing new there. However, what is new is this take on animal cruelty, aimed at the TV and film industry.

The spot is voiced by Adrien Brody. And it boils down to this: basically, if the television, film and advertising industries all just used CGI animals like the ape in this commercial, than no apes would be harmed.

Except of course, CGI ones. Apparently, PETA has no trouble suggesting real apes in captivity have it so bad, if given the choice, they'd blow their brains out with a hand gun. And they're sick, SICK enough to inflict this type of cruelty on CGI apes.

By the way, I had no idea hand guns were considered some of the primitive tools apes are able to use. Maybe CGI apes are more evolved than real ones?

Diet Dr Pepper "Josh Button" (2013) :30 (USA)

In which shirtless dude talks about hot people, while acting hot, and looking hot. Because he's a one of a kind shirtless dude. Unlike other dudes who are shirtless and shirtless in black and white spot.

Yup. One of a kind.

Schlage "Ex-girlfriend" (2013) :30 (USA)

Comedian: A Schlage lock is really strong.

Audience: How strong is it?

Comedian: Strong enough to keep out dream sequences!

*Laughter* *Applause*

Comedian: Thanks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

"At University of Phoenix, we know the value of your education is where it can take you." they say.. so that's why the ad has built a subway system in downtown L.A.! If only!

Adidas - Swipe shot / Window display smartphone game - (2013)

The Viral Company Stockholm made a little game for Adidas, and a super long case study film for it. Demonstrating that Stockholm Sweden isn't all hipsters and tall blondes, they interview man & woman on the street who actually tried the game so for once the reactions feel genuine. By connecting their smartphones to the Adidas store open wifi, and then visiting the URL http://adiswipe.com (don't read that too fast, asswipe), the phone connects to the store screen and becomes a full-powered gaming control. Then you can kick balls and score points!

There's no free Adidas shoes at the end, and the screen is small so there's a lost audience opportunity as other people walking by can't really see what's happening. Gold star for effort, I guess.

Ikea - "Ikeanize" organize desktop - (2013)

Winner of a silver Clio award 2013, this student entry has a clever idea of "Ikeanizing" your desktop. That is, clean up those random files and bits you have laying around on the desktop, and sort them into furniture. The Bookshelf holds .doc's, the picture frames hold photos, the shelf holds music. Very clever. Very cute. Very similar to the Clio Bronze winner 2012 from Laboratory Ideas Kft.
