I'm diggin' this new Chester and more mischievous, adult direction. I've had orange-stained fingertips on and off since the early 80s, and have been more than a little disappointed in their run-of-the-mill Chicago-cereal-style efforts aimed at kids. With the kid stuff, you could easily swap Chester out with Lucky the Leprechaun, Toucan Sam, Ronald McDonald, Chuck E. Cheese, Cap'n Crunch, Wilford Brimley, the Trix Rabbit, Sonny the Cuckoo Bird, etc. etc. and have pretty much the same commercial.
This I like. And it takes a different direction than back when Tony the Tiger and Frosted Flakes grew up for a while, although that was pretty good too.
With our office vending machine, Cheetos are always the first to sell out. I'm assuming that this phenomenon happens elsewhere as well. Good to see that somebody in marketing noticed.
*Moahhahaha* How deliciously evil of her.
/disclaimer - I get orange fingers from another brand.
I so want to date, Felicia.
"Happiness is overrated."
The voice of Chester Cheetah, is it the late Roscoe Lee Browne or just a really good imitation? If any one can help me find out, I am dying to know.
Roscoe Lee Browne died 11th April 2007, this ad went into production in December 2007. My guess is that no, it is not him. I've not been able to find out who the voice acting talent is however, which I hoped to do before answering your question.
Don't be surprised if it is Roscoe Lee Browne's voice. The ad world can bring anyone back from the dead. We have seen it before.
Now, can someone think of a way for me to ask Felicia for her phone number? (Please don't blow the fantasy for me just yet. I'm still so smitten with her! Ooh! Sexy pseudo bad girls!)
"Happiness is overrated."
From all indications the voice sounds very familiar to Ian McKellen our beloved Gandolph fro LOTR
I think it sounds like the British actor Idris Elba. Does anyone know for sure?
Promoting the fact that your brand turns things orange is not necessarily a great marketing campaign.
I disagree. Turning a negative into a positive is a classic good idea.
The voice is Adam Leadbeatter... he's brilliant.

Awesome. Thanks for solving the mystery.
