Colonial Williamsburg " Summer Family" (2013) :30 (U.S.A.)
The ending of this spot made me lolza. Nice casting, too. This is all part of a new rebrand for Williamsburg thanks to the Martin Agency.
Mitsubishi Electric "Heist" (2013) :60 (U.S.A.)
Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling and Heating want you to know there's an easier way to get the thermostat at your preferred temperature. It's called not marrying a controlling wife who wants to spend that saved money on shoe shopping.
Short of that, and because it seems we can't seem to get away from "dumb husband," "the wife who only cares about shopping" and "there's an easier way" concepts, the only option is to buy a Mitsubishi electric heating and cooling system.
Fun fact-- they used real lasers in this. Other fun fact, green lasers cause more severe eye damage than red ones.
Idi "Cinzia, your Skin Friend" (2013) 2:15 (Italy)
Italian women get most of their skin care tips from the interwebs. But they're not necessarily going to trusted sources. And those tips from unreliable sources can end up being silly, ineffective or even dangerous.
Skin Care company Idi Pharmaceuticals came up with an intriguing way to reach these women. They created a fake tutorial girl. Named "Cinzia," she offered up over the top ridiculous skin care tips, including covering your face with raw octopus and pizza dough.
Amnesty International "Sharpen your pencil" (2013) : (Canada)
By sharpening pencils, and writing letters, the more injustice you'll help make disappear.
La Cuidad de la Raqueta "BallRocking" (2013) 1:00 (Spain)
To support one of Europe's biggest tennis schools and motivate the children to keep playing, Grupo JWT turned missed shots into messages of inspiration. Keep trying, guys!
Smart "Unexpected Test Drive" (2013) 2:10 (Russia)
Russians like their SUV's. Russians like to park wherever they damn well please. Knowing this, Smart Car had a great idea. Wait until their cars were towed, give them an unexpected test drive, and try to win them over.
If they're lucky, soon the streets will be littered with quadruple parked Smart cars.
National Geographic Channels - The 80s Promo - (2013) :15 (USA)
Nathan Love Director Jim McKenzie brings a wildly nontraditional look to the National Geographic Channel in a promo for the network’s new The 80s: The Decade That Made Us miniseries. A rousing contrast to National Geographic’s traditionally grounded advertising, the animated spot infiltrates the airwaves with a trio of grinning, buff cheese ball characters working out in synch to an electronic frenzy of a song reminiscent of the 1980s.
Coca-Cola "The Happy Flag" (2013) 1:45 (Denmark)
Did you know if you squint your eyes you can see the Danish flag in the Coke logo?
It's true. And since the U.N. has recently rated Denmark the happiest place on Earth, and since they like to wave flags at the airport to welcome people, McCann decided hey, why not make a Coke poster with a bunch of Danish flags attached, and place it right at the airport.
Happy Happy.
Volkswagen "Migrator Bird" (2013) 1:30 (Sweden)
Swedish winters suck. They last forever. And you can't believe it's ever going to change. The minute you see those birds fly south, you know you're screwed.
In an attempt to make it just a little easier, Volkswagen decided to help out. Their
Skiteam edition cars with 4MOTION: that's four wheel drive, a car heater and roof box.
Getting back to the birds: DDB Stockholm paired up with the University in Lund and used GPS to live-track an osprey bird during its winter migration to the southern hemisphere and back.
Fans could follow the bird, read its tweets and of course, learn all about the 4MOTION cars. There was even a prize thrown in for good measure.
Oreo "Wonderfilled Anthem" (2013) 1:30 (U.S.A.)
Oreo and The Martin Agency channels its inner Coke for a happiness-inspired animated spot. But instead of buying the world a sugar-laden beverage though, it's giving fairy tale enemies and vampires and sharks a sugar-laden cookie, all set to some saccharine music by Adam Young, aka Owl City.
"Wonder if I gave an Oreo to you." Well, I can answer what would happen if you're curious. I'm 100% certain I would need a toothbrush. Followed by a strict monitoring of my insulin levels. And then I'd mention the fact Coke already tackled the "what if we bought the opposite of ourselves a Coke" idea seven years ago.
