NEW YORK and LA JOLLA, CA. - The filmmakers from U.S. creative production company Shilo (www.shilo.tv) are very proud to announce their role in producing an engaging new broadcast/web spot for Mountain Dew's new Green Label Art Shop Series campaign. This project was directed by Shilo's Evan Dennis, who worked in close collaboration with creative director David Hohman, art director Campbell Hooper and their colleagues from integrated marketing agency TracyLocke to create compelling content authentically supporting Mountain Dew's innovative campaign and the all-star talents assembled.
Heineken-Pletterpet - 2010 - South Africa
We open on a shot of soccer supporters in the stands at a local South African soccer match in the 1970’s. An overzealous supporter loses his grip on his Heineken and we see the bottle bouncing on the heads of unsuspecting supporters, including that of our main character Alfred Baloyi. Following on from this experience, Baloyi goes on to develop the “Makarapa” – a uniquely South African decorative soccer hat made out of a regular protective hard-hat. Finally we see an older Baloyi in present day South Africa at a World Cup Soccer game where the South African supporters are all wearing Makarapas. As Baloyi claims the Makarapa is exclusive only to South Africa he is interrupted by a Dutch supporter wearing a bright orange Makarapa.

Spike Lee directed rapper/poets/actor Lemon Andersen's homage to Brooklyn for Absolut's latest ad, while the post and VFX was handled by Smoke & Mirrors. Live action footage is blended with photographs of Brooklyn's bridges, endless parks, busy boardwalks, and the people who call it home.

So, you get a pretty straight forward brief that states: "inform people that there is lots of real mango in product", and you could do all sorts of samplings, tastings mango give-aways with this... Yeah, pretty dull.
Or you could scare the bejesus out of people by chasing them downhill with giant mangos!. Yes, aim that 8-foot mango down the slope onto the oncoming pedestrians. Do it! And why not drop enormous mangos from trees narrowly missing their heads? Yes! Lets do that too. A lot more fun, isn't it? Plus all those near heart-attack victims will take the drink you offer and think it's the best thing ever now. Win win!

Castle Lite- Cant Touch This - 2010 - South Africa
We open in an upmarket bar where a customer orders a Castle Lite. The barman quickly discovers that the Castle Lite is far too cold for him to “touch” and a hilarious and elaborate juggling act ensues as the barman fumbles with the bottle. He finally loses his grip on the beer and we see it fly across the bar only to be caught by a bejewelled hand. We discover that this hand belongs to MC Hammer who says “I told you Homeboy – you just can’t touch this.” The spot ends as a bemused patron gives a wry smile and promptly asks the barman for another Castle Lite for his friend.

RIDEOUT WAKES UP SAN FRANCISCO WITH TROPICANA SPOT
Working in partnership with RSA Films London, Crossroads Director Stuart Rideout harnesses the unique aesthetic of San Francisco to create a memorable visual story for Tropicana via DDB London. DJ is a beautiful montage of a West Coast weekday morning, following the journey of a morning talk-show deejay as he navigates the city's soaring bridges, meandering hilly streets, and towering skyscrapers on his daily journey to work. As an invigorated troupe of commuters sweeps through the diners, streetcars, and parks of the iconic city - a golden Tropicana invariably by their side - the deejay narrates the 7:00 a.m. sunshine, promising that "today is going to be a beautiful day."
