East of Avenue "Army of One" (2015) 3:30 (Canada)

East of Avenue have a new video out for their track "Army of one." What's even more interesting than that news is their label, Fifth Kid Records, was created by music house Vapor.

Last winter Vapor Music had East of Avenue create music for Walmart Canada’s Holiday campaign. People loved the music in the ads so much that they had the band do a full length song that was released on iTunes and Spotify.​ ​Record labels began reaching out to Vapor Music asking if they could sign East Of Avenue. Instead of just letting them go, Vapor Music smeed an opportunity for growth, and so they launched their own label.​ East of Avenue has a new EP out and a video for a new single.

The idea of a record company had always lingered in the mind of Joey Serlin, President and Creative Director at Vapor Music and guitarist and principal songwriter for Canadian alternative rockers the Watchmen. It was something he had considered when he first decided to stop touring with the Watchmen, prior to getting into audio for advertising.

To launch the label, Serlin and Vapor partnered with Fontana North Distribution and Maple Music Recordings, which handles publicity and promotion, and worked with the Toronto-based office of advertising agency LG2 and LG2 Boutique in Montreal to develop the branding and design.

As for the video and band, i am clearly not the target. But they definitely sound like the kind of music one would license. Especially for a manifesto spot.
