Freshpet - Apparently Kid’s First Ever TV Commercial - (2014)

Apparently advertising is now all about riding the coattails of a meme, and following pop culture instead of shaping it. Apparently advertising creativity is now reduced to becoming a dating agency between clients and the most recent viral phenomena. Apparently kid’s First Ever TV Commercial is a two minute chunk of dissapoint, created by LA-based Shareability for Freshpet. I'm not sure what Freshpet is because this ad is all about Noah Ritter, a.k.a. the "apparently kid," who likes cats more than puppies and even lets that slip in the impromptu interview. This has all the charm of a wet sock and none of the funny that made Noah Ritter's first interview at the county fair so hilarious. Personally I think it's a giant waste of Freshpet's marketing budget, but in the days of people believing that shares equals sales, I'm sure they're pleased that everyone and their uncle will talk about it until the next shiny thing comes along. Noah will be as dated as Chocolate Rain by next month.

Freshpet executives hope to gather some momentum from both the traditional ads and the potentially viral video with Apparently Kid.
“We’ve operated like a startup for a while,” Tyson said, “and we just want to elevate everything we’re doing and really build awareness now.”
