John Hammond, the music producer and talent scout credited with discovering Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin, gets his tale told in a new ad for Guinness that will be the first 60-second spot on Instagram in the UK and Ireland. Yes. You read that right, this ad will be aired on Instagram. Don't ask me how that works. The ad, created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and narrated by Danny Glover shows a reenactment of John Hammond defying the black musician radio ban inter-cut with some amazing dancing at the jazz clubs. It's all set to the groovy song "Sing Sing Sing", which was a hit for the Benny Goodman Trio, a band that John Hammond made famous.
