Florence and the Machine "DOG DAYS ARE OVER"
Q: How was working with Florence?
A: Florence was a great supporter from the get go. Our original treatment had her playing each character herself. Flo couldn’t stand only seeing herself so we changed it up. She let us run from there. Also she is the most charismatic performer we’ve ever seen. Every time the camera rolled she was jaw droppingly amazing. A force of nature who trusted us.
OK Go - This Too Shall Pass (2010) 3:50 (USA)
Zoo Films director James Frost on OK Go “This Too Shall Pass” RGM Version:
This was a truly collaborative effort of the highest order. The video is an accumulation of several months of extreme dedication and hard work, most notably by the band and Syyn labs. I first became involved last September when OK Go’s Damian Kulash contacted me and asked if I was interested. After meeting up with Damian, Tim and Adam Sadowsky (from Syyn Labs) to have the concept explained, and what they were going to try and achieve, I said, “count me in!”
Ben Harper & Relentless 7 "Lay There & Hate Me" (2010) 3:40
So, Zoo Film's director James Frost, he did that cool Radiohead House of Cards video. Now you have this 70's Bond-girl thing going on here with a nude and color projections on her and the wall. What brought this on?
I'd been looking at a lot of Robert Brownjohn's work around the time I wrote the treatment, the song evoked the strong saturated colors and projection techniques of the late 60's early 70's.
BBC Sport - Winter Olympics / Inuit - (2010) :40
Pretty crafty this guy, turning his snowboard into skis and then into a sleigh, then curling for the gold, or rather the head.
Repo Men- Jack Soda - (2010) :30
Jack Soda comically exhibits a boy's unrestrained hormones as he becomes excited by the image of a busty woman doused with soda.

Massive Attack - Flat of the Blade - (2010) 5:30
We're getting a lot more music videos submitted recently, this pleases me immensely as I think it's a great way for directors to show off their stuff (that isn't spec), but makes me regret putting music videos together with "show promos" as topic, which I did back when the submissions of videos dried up. This gem for Massive Attack is shot and directed by photographer Ewen Spencer, and the Heligoland film series.
Acid Washed - Snake - (2010) 3:52
This music video for Acid Wash’s latest “Snake” hypnotizes with simple line art set to the song. Night club visuals are now video art in their own right. The visuals are a collaboration between Anthony Burrill, Jack Featherstone and Paul Plowman, and it works damn well.

ESPN/NASCAR – The Nationwide Series - Dominoes (2010) :30 (USA)
"Dominoes," the first spot in ESPN's new campaign for the NASCAR Nationwide Series, conveys the fast and unpredictable action of the series--where up-and-comers get a shot at beating seasoned drivers. Using the tagline IT'S ANYONE'S RACE, the spot tells the story of a driver who manages to sneak his way to the front of the pack when a fight for the lead turns into a massive pile-up. Through a combination of CGI animation and cutting edge facial capture technology, Zoic and agency Wieden + Kennedy were able to create a hyper-real environment containing expressive human characters. With the hard driving soundtrack of Metallica's "Master of Puppets," "Dominoes" captures the intensity of NASCAR and showcases the fine line between winning and losing.

Michael Jackson "This is it", Spike Lee directs his final video.
Spike Lee did the honors in directing Michael Jacksons last video, and chose Smoke & Mirrors New York (SMNY) to do post and VFX work for the postmortem tribute to Michael Jackson. The video is a montage of images spanning the King of Pop's lifetime and is set to the sounds of This Is It, a track that is two decades old.
"When Spike (Lee) asked us to be involved in a secret project, of course we said yes. It was a huge compliment to SMNY, as he could have chosen anyone to help him achieve his vision," noted Smoke & Mirrors CD Sean Broughton. "We knew this would not only be a fun project, but a heartfelt goodbye to the King of Pop."
Nickelodeon - Spongebob Squarepants - (2009) :45 (USA)
Stop-motion animation pros Screen Novelties, the latest talent addition to DUCK Studios, created a jolly opening sequence for children's favorite SpongeBob SquarePants' 10th anniversary special on Nickelodeon. The roughly :45 piece is a spectacular showcase of the diverse capabilities of DUCK's newest creative team.
The intro is a rollicking adventure across, beside, and beneath the ocean, with a brief jaunt into outer space, through fantastic landscapes handcrafted by the gang at Screen Novelties. SpongeBob, along with a pirate and fish, are represented with a mixture of stop-motion, cardboard animation and puppetry as the show's zippy anthem plays in the background.
Valley Lodge - All of My Loving
Absolute temporarily suspended its no-shirt, no-shoes, no-service policy to finish the latest video for Brooklyn-based power pop band Valley Lodge. All of My Loving is set in a bizarre household in which every piece of furniture - from the beds to the tables to the toilet - is comprised of totally nude live-action male human bodies or parts of bodies. While the actors wore underwear during the shoot, Lead Flame Artist James "Krispy" Cornwell used his visual magic to make the clothing disappear by giving it the texture and color of skin.
