Eastpak - Built to Resist / Aka (director's cut)- (2010) :60
And now we've graduated to the directors cut of "Aka". The Eastpack-clad bunch of midgets pop out of their bags resembling mexican wrestlers and perform something that looks a lot like the Māori Haka dance. I think we all know what the creative team was on, what we need to know is what did they put in the water for the client? The best part of this campaign is the fact that it got sold! The execution required skilled costume making, done by Puppetown , to allow the cast to fold into and out of their transforming backpacks as seamlessly as possible and still be able to move properly.
Coke / Coca Cola - Motherland - (2010):45 (AUSTRALIA)
Director David Gaddie of production company The Colony recently lensed a spot for Coke’s new ‘Mother’ beverage. With the target market being everyday ‘blokes,’ the spot takes place in “Motherland” - a place that celebrates sizzling steaks, epic explosions, and shooting guns with abandon. Gaddie lensed the footage on location at an old rail yard in Sydney Australia using built set pieces that were later enhanced in post production. The explosions are all real and in-camera though - The Colony loves pyro! Second unit was shot in Coney Island, New York and LA theme parks.
Tribeca Film Festival - Here comes the neighborhood - (2010) :60
If you won't come to the Tribeca film festival, they'd have to bring it to you. Robert de Niro wouldn't stand for it. This is how the Tribeca Film Festival and David Gray say thanks for coming, so they didn't have to roll the parking attendant in bubble wrap.
Making Of the MassiveGood Spike Lee commercial
The "making of" video where each person involved in the film gets to talk about the MassiveGood project is almost a better seller of the MassiveGood idea than the ad itself. Dr Brian Green is genuinly impressed with the idea of MassiveGood and true enthusiasm is contagious.
