Exemplar - an exemplary typeface fresh out of the oven

Exemplar Pro is now available - a typeface that took a long time to get here, but good things come to those who wait.... Göran Söderström tells the story:
I had just finished my calligraphic studies when I made the first sketches of Exemplar in 1994. Inspired by the beauty and perfection of several typefaces and the art of calligraphy, I got started on my first attempts to create a new typeface. My goal was to create a typeface that was traditional yet unconventional, a balanced combination that felt both old and new. Respectful of the art of typography, I turned to history for inspiration and placed equal attention towards taking a step into the future. Two years later, the designs for both regular and italic versions were complete. A first attempt to make Exemplar a fully functional font took place in 1997. But years passed and a general lack of time needed forced the project into a deep sleep for about nine years. In the first days of 2006, Exemplar experienced its revival when Psy/Ops signed a distribution deal for the typeface.

I like the way this font looks. Clean, functional, and elegant. [I'm trying to figure out how he displays 2 capital "K"s side by side, and the red one has an extra long, sinuous serif on the bottom. Oh, well...] (Yes, I know that he does it with several other letters - "K" is the first one that came to mind.)
Those are alts, you can choose with or without. :) Obviously, you'd never really do two capitol K-alts next to each other... Or maybe, for a hard-rock band gone soft.
I thought that maybe using some slightly different ascii code would cause you to see one of the 2 variants. It just looks odd seeing all of them together like that. (I just discovered that this machine doesn't have any paint/edit program (MS Word doesn't count).).
Sigh... I NEED to win that lottery ($33M Saturday!) - so that I don't need to deal with the shortcomings of the client's computers, among other things [such as $1500/month for Health Insurance].
Was that a Dokken shout-out?
I like the look of this face, but I can imagine it quickly experiencing Trajan-like usage by lazy designers.
whoohoooo - all kinds of nerds here aren't we? Can't hide anything from you folks. Love it.
Also love the phrase "Trajan-like usage", it'll confuse the heck out of non fontnerds.
Speaking of Trajan though.
