Renowned video artist Marco Brambilla has today confirmed an ongoing collaborative relationship with Stink. Brambilla will be represented internationally as an artist for special projects, reaffirming Stink’s continuing focus on marrying cutting edge creativity with innovative and progressive production.
Brambilla’s latest work produced through Stink is the stunning video collage, Power, commissioned by Kanye West, which has already attracted over 6 million online views in under a week. Editorially the piece has garnered coverage from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Creativity, shots and arts titles Juxtapoz and Art Daily.
Previous projects include the 2009 Standard Hotel installation Civilization, a powerful contemporary interpretation of Dante’s Inferno balancing reflections on mass culture and Hollywood film with classical art historical references.
Brambilla, represented by Christopher Grimes Gallery of Los Angeles, is currently working on a new video installation entitled Evolution, a large-scale video collage expanding on the technique developed for Civilization. This major work will form part of his first retrospective to be held at the Santa Monica Museum of Art in early 2011.
Brambilla's work has been internationally exhibited and is in the permanent collections of museums such as SFMOMA and the Guggenheim and the New Museum of Contemporary Art.
