Sad news in Adland, as Ron Collins has joined the great agency in the sky on Monday. He was one of the names on the door at Wight Collins Rutherford Scott, WCRS, the agency he founded with Robin Wight, Andrew Rutherford and Peter Scott in 1979, after a successful climb up the Art Director ladder at Collett Dickenson Pearce in the 1970s. Basically, that's two really hot London agencies in the heyday of London creative work. You might know him best for the long running Cinzano campaign directed by Alan Parker, where Leonard Rossiter plays a clumsy man who punches well above his weight and has managed to marry Joan Collins whom he keeps spilling drinks on.
