Ronald McDonald house - the house that nobody wants to live in.

Like the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health campaign created by Zig, Toronto - the Ronald McDonald House campaign have lifted their style from the real estate ads we see each day. But with a twist. Right now we have 14 families waiting. But nobody wants to move in... their first headline states, alluding to the usual queueing system Swedes endure for housing.

In real estate shop windows you'll find their ad stating "The house nobody wants to live in" begging for your attention. In local spots where "apartment for rent" ads normally appear, their note hangs stating "29 rooms and a kitchen that nobody wants"

3 / Tre - Nokia 7230 - Masked Sheep / Maskerat får - (2010) :15

Looks like the earlier ad from Tele2 this month, where one of Frank the sheep's colleagues is kidnapped has given the rival agencies and phone companies some ideas.

Electrolux - Table (2010) :60 (Sweden)

The idea of the campaign is to take a category that people care very little about and inject it with emotional meaning. Typically, white-good manufacturers talked about features like cooking temperatures, sizes and capacity.

ICA - Ulf videobloggar / Gott nytt år - (2009) :30 (Sweden)

In this "video-blog" created by Ulf, one of the Ica people, he acts and speaks exactly like some of the more well known video & fashion bloggers in Sweden. I'll try my best to translate it.

"Heya blog!

Feministiskt initiativ : Feminister gör det bättre / Feminists do it better - (2009) :70 (Sweden)

Feministiskt initiativ (Feminist initiative political party) began a campaign last week with the message: feminists have better sex. Over a thousand people have already joined the facebook fan page, and debate is raging in the newspaper where Elin Grelsson, linguist, suggest that the campaign makes women feel guilty , and that it is vague to what it actually means, with its buttons and flyers and a commercial that is made up of various Hollywood scenes that depict "shoddy gender sex" (sunkigt könsrollssex).

Gudrun Schyman, the FI party leader posted an article at Newsmill: "happiness is relationships without reservation", stating this leads to better sex. The idea for the campaign stems from research that shows that in relationships where partners were on an equal footing, their sexlife was better.

The film has been edited together by members of FI. Am I the only one wondering if these clever politicians remembered to secure the rights for all the clips?

Adland in Amsterdam Eurobest 2009: Gustav Martner and Gustav von Sydow 7:23

Gustav von Sydow is Founder and CEO of Burt, a company that creates software for creative agencies.

Gustav Martner is the Sweden-based Executive Creative Director at Crispin Porter + Bogusky Europe. Leading up to this role, he was co-founder of Daddy, the renowned web agency that was acquired by CP+B earlier this year.

They had just held the seminar Remix: What Advertising Can Learn From The New Pop Culture at Eurobest 2009.

The great ad man Howard Gossage once said: "The real fact of the matter is that nobody reads ads. People read what interests them. Sometimes it's an ad."
How would that translate into the world of advertising today?
