Buy milk & give milk - Porteur bikes give one away for each one you buy

Our pal Martin Cedergren tells us about his latest project;

"Porteur is a new bicycle brand inspired by the bicycles used in the past by messengers and milkmen. With a front mounted carrier it’s perfect for contemporary city life. And it comes with a unique promise - for every bicycle sold, one bicycle is donated to youths in developing countries. One for one, the promise is carried forward.

To make people aware of this promise, we have created a new campaign called: Buy milk – Give milk.

On Thursday this week, ambassadors of the brand, will use Porteur bikes to deliver milk to offices in downtown Stockholm. One litre costs 98 Swedish crowns. All money is then donated to buy therapeutic milk for children in need via UNICEF - One for one.

Case Study Bingo Cards

Considering the amount of case studies rolling in this week, the fact that we're all gearing up for Cannes lions so there's no end in sight quite yet, and the advice doled out in our Adland Tutorial on Case Studies I thought it's h

Can't be bothered translating the (rather funny) lyrics, but they're rapping about organic farming, locally produced and making milk products.

Awesomerags fashion store uses "sex sells" mantra, makes predictable positions ad

Le yawn. Feels like we've seen this exact layout before, but I guess I should alert you to the "edgy" ad from Awesomerags which depicts their fashion models in various sexual postions. Fully clothed of course. Like previous ads before it, the layout homages an old kama sutra poster.

Thermacell / Myggrapporten - the mosquito report - yes, there's an app for that!

Swedish summers are famous for a lot of things, midnight sun, skinny dipping, odd midsummer parties, rain throughout July, and mosquitos. Millions of mosquitos. They'll eat you alive.

"Up until now there really has been no way to find out how big the problem is locally in different parts of the country. When you plan your vacation you can get a weather report but not a mosquito report. With this insight, we helped our client - a nordic agent for the mosquito repellent product Thermacell - build a crowdsourcing tool for mosquito reports."

Findus - Asparagus Conspiracy theory - (2011) : 30 (Sweden)

Gosh, I'm getting so psyched for Cannes Lions it's redonk, even the frozen foods category is exiting to me now as I have Forsman & Bodenfors to root for*. We have a contender, this is a nice ad for such a stiff (heh) subject, they even got the english VO to get the nuances in the Asparagus' silly conversation right. They're talking about the moon landing conspiracy theory, of course. What else would asparagus talk about? (VO in Swedish is miles better, but that's likely because the voice is such a typical Swedish character hard to translate)

Ikea - Albin Gromer / Trollmors vaggsång / Lullaby - (2011)

Albin Gromer updates a classic lullaby called Trollmors Vaggsång. Sadly, whenever I caught this ad on Swedish telly, it has been chopped down to a short shadow of itself and I only get to hear the "yaa yaa yaa yaa oooh" part, losing the entire context of it being a classic lullaby updated. Bummer. This is why you should never do annoying short edits people, they are le suck.

The Ronald McDonald Childrens Fund

Campaign - ”Please don’t hang up”

As a parent or relative, saying good night to a child over the phone is the last thing you want to do when the child is going through a tough period of sickness. You’d wanna be there in person. That’s the reason of existence for The Ronald McDonald Houses, and The Ronald McDonald Childrens fund. The aim is to build houses in connection to hospitals around Sweden, to act as a home away from home for the parents and relatives – a place where they can stay while the child is hospitalized.
