Walkers take Church back in time

A campaign broke in the UK at the end of April featuring Charlotte Church with Gary Lineker for Walkers Sensations Crisps (click link to see the spot). Created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and directed by Paul Weiland, it is intended to be reminiscent of the glamorous Hollywood days of yesteryear. Following with that theme, the newspaper advert in the campaign for the Lime and Thai Spice flavoured crisps is designed to look like a movie poster from the 1940s or 1950s.

Virgin Atlantic - Soon (2006) Newspaper (UK)

A couple weeks ago this ad for Virgin Atlantic ran in UK newspapers. The word in the center of the ad is Arabic for "Soon". But it's also pretty neat that it also looks like an airplane.

Apparently that is what inspired the creatives behind this ad for new flights to Dubai, as they looked through an Arabic dictionary, hoping for some inspiration.

November's best newspaper ad, says NWA

This months NWA judge Euro RSCG's UK Director of Creativity, Gerry Moira, said about the winning ad:

"There's something joyously irreverent about this ad - the pastiche of the royal commemorative plates, the depiction of Margaret as a playgirl Princess - there's lots to enjoy.
The attention to detail, from the furry handcuffs to the Union Jack thong, is creative and eye-catching and underlines the cheekiness that permeates the whole execution. And it really worked - I actually watched the programme."
