Milk - where did you get that mustache?
It took me way too many years to find the "original" mustache campaign that I remember from when I was a little kid - found deep down in the dusty archives of the Swedish Arla Milk products company, photos of famous people posing with big white mustaches. Concept ring a [cow]bell?
Agency launches website by mailing a lamb hoof
When Cole, Russel & Pryce in Stockholm sent out their (e)mailers to advertise themselves and their new website, they probably didn't expect their own clients would have a cow over their creative ideas.

The campaign - perhaps a homage to the National Lampoons "If You Don't Buy This Magazine We'll Kill This Dog" cover - consisted of emailalerts at first, depicting this adorable little lamb, asking people to visit CR&P's homepage "for the sake of the lamb".....
Volvo's spoof within a spoof for the S40- Mystery of Dalarö.
A new Volvo ad , a "documentary" (rather, a mockumentary), tells about the "mystery of Dalarö" where 32 families bought the same model car, a Volvo S40, on the very same day. The mocumentary ad can be viewed here, and in cinemas in the UK.
Now the site of Carlos Soto, the "director" of the mocumentary has a film where Carlos questions the authenticity of the Dalarö-mystery.
"I have posted a personal edit of the footage here. I point out inconsistencies that occurred to me while reviewing the footage, and show an accurate and impartial view of what I saw. The original edit tells what I thought was a genuine story, that I no longer do."
The kicker is, there is no Carlos Soto............

Boobies and Weapons
After 189 complaints that the ads were demeaning to women and trivialized the war in Iraq, EasyJet "Weapons of Mass Distraction" ad gets the green light. From the ASA site:
"The advertisers stated that the advertisement was the latest of a series of topical, humorous and irreverent advertisements. The advertisers said they believed the advertisement was not sexist or demeaning to women; they asserted that they had received positive feedback from both male and female customers."

Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
We must admit that when we first laid eyes on RatherGoods animated viking kittens we laughed our heads off.
Don't miss what Destinys child would sound and apparantly look like, if they were kittens, male and from northen England. Rathergood has ventured out into the world of advertising, and here are four VH1 commercials made by Joel Veich of Rathergood.com.
Fuse is fuel for fury. MTV doesn't like their tone.
Fuse adcampaign struts out Sally Struthers, this time she's pleading with us to "save the music video".
Today when Mel Karmazin, head of Viacom, arrives at the MTV office in New York city, a giant Times Square billboard outside his office featuring Sally will be his view. A rival music channel ordered the poster installed overnight to 'tweak' what it called MTV's "lack of music" in it's programming.

Mama Mia that's a ballsy rip-off ...
Those who don't know their history are condemned to repeat it.
But repeat it this well? This is a carbon-copy of the idea - with herring instead of meatballs.
