NBA Global Games "Crocantíssimo" (2014) 1:30 (Brazil)

To promote the NBA global games in Rio, agency Africa Zero created this stunt which, due to my limited Portuguese, I can only describe as bungee basketball. Looks like it was a lot of fun.

Steam and Twitch now requiring disclosure of sponsored content

In news that might impact video game clients and the ad agencies who make their ads, and one which wil hopefully effect gamers in a positive way (which we haven't been seeing much as of late) Twitch and Steam are finally catching up to the FTC's more recent updates from last year concerning sponsored content and native advertising, and updating their ToS to reflect the change. Sponsored content. I love that phrase. See the image above? That was sponsored content from like 1957 or something. No one bristled at it then.

#Gamergate OP deleted from Github the official reply to "why?"

Yesterday a repository called "Gamergate OP" was deleted from collaboration-site Github, for the moment you can see see it via Google Cache. I emailed Github to get clarification as to why.

I asked the following questions:

INTEL clarifies: We are not "anti woman"

Intel has issued a statement regarding pulling their ads from Gamasutra to clarify a few simple things. Like, pulling ads does not mean they're "bowing down to a movement that’s trying to keep women out of technology" as bloggers are painting it as.

Bard Behaviour - Poetry in advertising

Perhaps like me, you woke up to discover that the other day was National Poetry Day – whatever that really means. From Sticky Toffee Pudding Day to Thank Your Dentist Day, there’s some bullshit entirely fictional moment to celebrate each and every facet of human endeavour. It’s beautiful, it’s inspiring, it’s unadulterated, and it’s bollocks of the most meaningless kind. ‘Taco Day’ is rapidly approaching on Saturday, and let’s not forget ‘Ship in a Bottle Day’ too.

BBC Wales "The hunchback in the park" (2014) 2:56 (UK)

To celebrate National Poetry Day (which was yesterday, October 2nd) Aardman Animations created this wonderful animation set to Dylan Thomas' "The hunchback in the park." This was meant specifically for BBC Wales.

Audi Italia "One Million Facebook Likes" (2014) :30 (Italy)

Audi Italia racked up one million Facebook likes without ever posting a photo of a single kitten. To celebrate they created this little video. Thankfully, it stars a kitten as well as an Audi R8 V10. Can I have both?

Tribal NY show you the highs and lows of DXM abuse

DXM is an active ingredient in over-the-counter couch medicines. It's a cheap way to get high. And it's been around for a while. When I was in high school they called it Robotripping. Anyway, like the majority of drugs, the side effects of quaffing massive quantities of cough syrup are quite unpleasant.
