Loducca São Paulo has somehow found these really really ancient porn images, and use them to advertise the idea of using condoms. I bet they never had that much fun looking for decent stock. ;)

Great surprise. Where were those ads (?) published? Seems like that other campaign playing with words (like "penisland") - I never saw that anywhere.
i really like these ones! and their tvc with the chewing gum!!
I love the way the guy keeps his socks on in the top ad.
Gotta love the positioning on that banner. Superb ads. :-D
Stag films and pornographic reels from the turn of the 20th century seem to have established the precedent. I've seen this dealt with by professional researchers (I believe it was the Why Do Clocks Run Clockwise guy), and the real answer is "No one knows."
But the leading explanations include theories like:
—A legal difference between total nudity and partial nudity in obscenity law
—Ease of escape
—So they could walk around off-set
There are also the more modern answers of tradition, fetish and utility (dirty floors), but generally if you see shoes on these days it's because the director wanted to see the performers wearing shoes.
[I personally like the first 2 suggestions].
The pictures here seem to be from around 1890-1920.
There are many collections in books documenting these photos, ranging in age from the 1880's until the 1930's.
[As a fan of old photos**, I have a few of these books] :-)
(** I have books with photo collections dating back to the beginning - i.e. the 1840's, including one from Pre-Boxer Rebellion China).
The porn industry never changes?
I would have tried to make the message less vague. Like 'photoshoping' in the guy wearing a condom, or even a condom brand somewhere on the ad..... Without Dabitch's intro, I would have trouble understanding the intended message of the ads.
P.S. RetroRaunch
