This campaign for Sunnex Jeans ran in March 2007. There was a far more un-US-PC (yeah, I just invented that acronym-combo, suck it up) one that ran in 2K as well.

Aren't most jeans not made in America? Don't they all come from China? Why would not being made in America be at all significant?
I'm assuming here, but think they reached the thought by seeing jeans (the clothing item, regardless of brand name) as a purely American invention. You know, cowboys, wild west, steel factories, oil drilling and grimy metropolis built while wearing them. Thus they positioned their brand of Jeans as an "Un-american" brand... I'll presume these jeans are made in India (much like the iconic American Brand Vanderbilt were), in order to appeal to the market who might feel that a western item of clothing wouldn't be OK to wear, unless it was made at home, so to speak. I don't know if this is a sound strategy. As you point out most (brand) jeans are indeed made in , which makes it all rather futile from a western point of view - but we are not the target market.
A lot of artisanal denim companies are sprouting up across america, so there are in fact multiple denim companies who source the materials, and make their denim in the U.S. of A.
