Yes, it is the same.
Just like those "Holy Sh.." ads, where people are talking, and they suddenly get smashed into by another car or truck. When they get out, they look at the cars, and someone goes, "Holy Sh..", and the sound is cut, and a message comes up to let you know how safe you'll be in their cars. (What car was it?). There was 3 or 4 of them. All of them were well done, and I liked them.
I liked the one with 'girl', especially when she's going "I could get used to " (and gets cut off, and we see her getting the ticket). [I'm using 'girl' here to mean any female under my age, and maybe a few years older. Since I'm still a boy]. :-)
I'm not from Canada (a couple of hundred miles south of it), but I get most of them. I knew what a loonie was, only because I read a book where the main character (a teenager) has just moved to Canada from the US, and someone asks him for a toonie.
Basically, the first ad reminds us that men usually do not want to appear to be queer/gay/homosexual [pick your favorite title] when in a men's room; and also, that the men's room is very smelly, and very dirty! Also, you don't want to appear to be looking at another guy's cock (although most guys quickly check it out), and you don't want to look at the floor, so you stare at the wall, reading ads posted there, and grafitti, and looking at cracks in the tile...
The second ad is to remind us that men are manly-men, who know how to go off into the woods, and not need frilly items, like lighter fluid, etc.

I wonder if Joan (on Twitter) knows she's conversing with someone really in advertising (with redhair as well). [I've imagined that your voice would be in a slightly higher register than Joan's, probably with a slight accent (in English), that would allow knowledgeable people to identify you as having come from Sweden/Denmark/New York/San Fran!
