While employed as an in-house designer for a telecommunications giant, I was tasked with a quickie shirt design for the international marketing department. The design centered on a mercator globe because I had to show every country where we conducted (or hoped to conduct) business. The head of the international marketing group reviewed the design, and his honest to god comment was: "Looks great, but can you make Africa smaller? We don't do a lot of business there."
