Powerful, provocative message, yes. Can't say I agree, though. All this spot does is further the myth that guns are inherently bad. Guns are metal objects. If someone steals your car, gets drunk, and mows down innocent pedestrians, is the aggrieved car owner the perpetrator? If someone breaks into my garage and steals my chainsaw, then goes all Leatherface on a family of five, am I the psychotic murderer? Guns, chainsaws, cars...they're all inanimate objects capable of great harm in the hands of a PERSON intent on destruction. In this particular spot's case, having law abiding citizens turn in their guns just so a bad guy doesn't steal them is like telling an attractive woman to turn in all her low cut dresses so rapists don't get turned on.

"Clearly in bad taste, at least, the Indian source also questions the timing of these risqué Ford ads, as the follow by days new anti-rape legislation passed by the Indian Parliament. Ford has responded in a statement, that it and its advertising partner (JWT India) "deeply regret" the ads, and claim that they "never should have happened."

Not only is it in bad taste, it's conceptually devoid. Leave your worries behind means hiding bodies in the trunk?

WTF???

Every creative associated with this campaign should be canned.

Tabasco "Mosquito". Hands down my favorite spot over the years. Simple idea, powerfully executed.

Oh, thank heaven. This guy was annoying at best. Never made me feel any emotional connection for the brand. None whatsoever.

Damn, Leslie. If I didn't know you, I'd think you were a guy.

Totally bodacious. Probably a 36CW.

I don't drive a Hyundai,
but a Honda instead.
Though that's not to say
that their cars can't, um...shred.
Now, speaking of shredding,
let's go back to two wheels
and land on a helmet that claims
"It's your head." (ing?)

That's very funny. I missed the part where they admit it's a spoof. But maybe that makes it even funnier.

I agree. You don't have to be an art director or "in the ad biz" to get this spot. Anyone who suffers through the daily grind at an asshole factory will get this. The fact that she's getting reamed for improper font use and the wrong color yellow only makes it a bonus for those of us who ARE in the business.

Love the subtle hint at her blindness when she lightly caresses the leather steering wheel.

Beautiful spot, well done. The dry lake bed cliche is the fourth character here, and therefore becomes a non-cliche. I think. :)

Clutter-busting, yes. But I think this guy's got a bigger problem than needing a few mints.

Besides, I never understood "dog breath" to literally mean 'your breath smells like a dog', but rather 'your breath smell's like a dog's breath.'
