Biscuit Filmworks Crafts Eight Spots for Super Bowl 50

Biscuit Filmworks directors Matt Dilmore, Jeff Low, Andreas Nilsson, Steve Rogers, and Aaron Stoller delivered a total of eight commercials for Super Bowl 50, loaded with humor and star-studded adventures. Dilmore directed “Dream” for KFC via Wieden + Kennedy; Low directed “Wiener Stampede” for Heinz via David and two “Pass It On” spots for Esurance via Leo Burnett; Nilsson directed “Moving Day” for via RPA; Rogers directed “Never a Sellout” for Turbo Tax via Wieden + Kennedy; and Stoller directed “The Chase” for Hyundai via Innocean and “Zeke” for Dollar Shave Club via the brand’s in-house creative team. Super Bowl 50 was broadcast by CBS, reaching over 111 million viewers.

Matt Dilmore’s “Dream” is the newest installment in KFC’s ongoing ad campaign that regularly introduces new celebrities as Colonel Sanders. This pre-game spot welcomes comedian Jim Gaffigan as the newest Colonel – though in his dreams, he is haunted by the previous incarnation of the Colonel played by Norm MacDonald.

Heinz, returning to the Super Bowl after a hiatus in 2015, enlisted Jeff Low to shoot “Wiener Stampede.” The heartwarming spot features a group of dachshunds dressed as hot dogs, eagerly running toward a loving family of condiments.

Low also directed two “Pass It On” spots for Esurance (one pre-game and one post-game). Both spots use football mishaps to show how Esurance passes savings onto its customers, and urged viewers to re-Tweet Esurance throughout the night for a chance to earn even more savings.

Andreas Nilsson channeled hit sitcom “The Jeffersons” for’s spot “Moving Day.” Viewers watch as brand spokesperson Jeff Goldblum literally “moves on up” alongside an apartment building, ultimately meeting a modern-day take of George and Weezy (portrayed by George Washington and Lil’ Wayne) in the penthouse.

Turbo Tax enlisted Steve Rogers for “Never a Sellout,” the brand’s third consecutive Super Bowl spot. The tongue-in-cheek spot stars Anthony Hopkins, arguing that he is not technically a sellout for appearing in the ad since Turbo Tax is free.

Aaron Stoller helmed “The Chase,” the first of Hyundai’s two Super Bowl spots this year. Hyundai, a longtime Super Bowl advertiser, is also celebrating its first year as an official NFL sponsor. The action-packed spot shows a couple racing through the woods and narrowly escaping two hungry bears thanks to their car’s remote start feature.

Stoller also directed “Zeke” for Dollar Shave Club, which humorously urges male viewers not to keep using their dirty razors to save money.
