BlueRock, the New York-based creative editorial company under the umbrella of Lively Group, adds editor Chrissy Rabe, who is known for creating work that is both visually beautiful and emotionally stirring. Chrissy Rabe is a New York-transplant, Texas native. At age 14, she started in the business in front of the camera as a model. From there she went on to become a producer and photography manager, before getting drawn into editing. Rabe says that she learned how to be a successful editor with every step of her career. Modeling taught her “to not take things too personally,” and how to work with a variety of personalities. As a producer and photography manager, she learned to be extremely organized and honed a true eye for photography. “I would scour through thousands of photos to make selects to send onto the client,” she says, “which was ideal training for my future as an editor.” Rabe is known for her meticulous taste level and singular aesthetic, which has made her a favorite among top international beauty and fashion brands. Before joining BlueRock, she worked for Box Motion and Gloss VFX, working with a client list that includes Nike, Prada, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, Godiva, Harley Davidson, Zara, Gap, Sephora, and MAC Cosmetics. Rabe edited the award-winning Lane Bryant “This Body” campaign, stating that she was proud to collaborate with Laird and Partners to create this powerful message about rising above and shining through negativity. Rabe’s talent for fusing fashion, music and storytelling can be seen in the Balmain campaign-slash-music video for Kanye West’s “Wolves,” in which she matches stark monochromatic imagery to the atmospheric music. Of that project, Rabe says, “It’s a perfect example of my passion for using beautiful images to help shape a narrative with music. Even when I watch it now, there are still moments that give me chills.” “Chrissy’s unique style is reflected in the way she creates, allowing the viewer to feel pure emotional reactions while watching her pieces,” remarks Executive Producer/Managing Director Courtney Ryan Law. “She is able to seamlessly blend genres, knowing just how to achieve the perfect shot at the perfect moment. That’s the beauty of her editing, and what makes her such a valuable addition to our roster.” Rabe is thrilled to join BlueRock, describing it as an ideal place to grow as an editor, “They have an incredible reputation across the industry, and beautiful newly designed, state-of-the-art offices. Everyone there exudes so much passion and knowledge for the film industry—it’s very inspiring,” she says. “I hope to be able to bring my own vision and style to the amazing brands that already collaborate with BlueRock, as well as broadening further into the commercial and film genres.” BlueRock is a New York-based creative editing house committed to the art of storytelling. The BlueRock team proudly provides its clients with innovative solutions that perfectly blend artistic diversity and technological integration.
