Denny's "Stinking Syrup" (2015) :15 (USA)

There are many things I don't understand about American advertising. For instance, why are they trying to sell so much story in a 15 second spot? There is so much going on here. This is part stop motion, part imaginative story by lumberjack-looking dad, this spot for Denny's begs the question: What child has ever asked why we put syrup on our pancakes? It's sugar. Children will put sugar on anything, including sugar if they get the chance to.

"sugar on sugar" - accurate: When I was a kid (say, 5 years old) and told to go make my own sandwich I poured sugar on two lightly buttered slices of Wonderbread and slammed them around an apple-jelly donut.

There's a lot of talk at the moment that sugar is the new tobacco. If for one disagree, smoking sugar is not pleasant at all.
