Jeep - there is only.. two?

With the advent of google video, it was ripe to be a place for people to upload their spec work. Take for example this Jeep spot where Directors Casper Frank & Talia Raine seem to be under the impression that crap suspension is a selling point. Steve tipped us to the "sexist, mysogonistic and objectifying...but.." spot. Yes, some of you will find it funny - but I think we all agree it's not a good ad for Jeep. The tagline seems to be selling the other stars in the picture.

This is definitely targeted at my demographic.

Everytime I fly Hooters Air, I pray for turbulence.

What a great headline

ta! Yaknow if they're selling "bouncy and fun" I reckon they should have cast someone a little bouncier....

johndoom's picture

And I thought 'twas only me thinking that - I mean, they're very nice and all, but I've certainly seen bouncier. Casting the stars is SO important, don't you agree?

still, thanks for the mammaries, lads.

I agree, seems more like a sports bra ad targeted at female Jeep drivers!

Nissan has come out with a similar ad for the Pathfinder. There is a video game called, "WRC3: World Rally Championship 3" by Playstation that has a comparable ad as well.

You can see the Nissan ad here: (About one quarter of the way into the video).

The WRC3 ad can be viewed here: (Scroll down for the "WRC3" link).

Thanks, I just had that emailed to me last night as well. Notice anything weird with that .wmv? Look closer. Upper right hand corner.....Why yes, it's the Cannes Lions Logo. But I don't recall seeing that at Cannes. Does anyone else? Also, Cannes doesn't create .wmv files, they make .mpegs only. So is this a viral trying to pretend it was a Cannes winner?

Isn't that interesting? When I first saw the Jeep ad (before I saw it post here) I thought for sure it was a hoax. I was wrong. Later, when I saw the (alleged) Nissan ad, I had a suspicion it wasn't genuine, but having been wrong about the Jeep ad....

Dabitch's picture

Oh that Jeep ad is just silly spec work, it never ran (so I guess you could call it a hoax). The Nissan one though.... Where the hell did that come from?

TDD's picture

Until you posted it here, I thought the Jeep spec ad was what I suspect the Nissan ad is; if that makes any sense. :)

Oh right! I misread you. :)
